Have you watched him recently? People are saying he doesn't walk back into the team based on how he's played the last 18 months, he isn't the same player he was at Liverpool

I remember last yr loads kept saying how we should be going for m'vila because he is class - even though folk hadn't watched him for yrs. He went to WBA n was shocking as his legs had gone - you need to be able to get about the pitch in the championship

Now I'm not totally against Henderson coming in but not if we have 6 other 1st team CMs at the club n I also don't think he's going to be as good as some think for us

also, i'd rather see how Samed does personally, people acting like he's injured for the entire season

Just see the posts on this page.

I wouldn't go anywhere near Henderson as a player now. Waste of time. We press and move quickly. His days are long long gone of doing that.

Plus he chased the bag in Saudi.

    No.

Rarely works when former players come back, brilliant player but rather we carry on the route we’ve been going down

****ing managers too. Some people were excited about the prospect of Poyet coming back in as a coach, when we hounded him out for being dire, or as a DoF with no experience beyond signing bang average players like Bridcutt, Buckley, and Borini.

We are a ****ing odd fanbase.

I like to leave the football side of things to those who know what they’re doing. And for the first time in decades I think we have people at the club who actually do know their business. As supporters we may think we know, but the reality is very different for the majority of us.
I’m just pleased that we seem to be on an upward trajectory.

    I wouldn't agree with this!

Henderson in his prime was better than any of our midfielders at the minute but I assume he isn't in his prime anymore or we wouldn't have any hope of signing him.

I haven't watched him so I really don't know but I would guess in his slow move towards retirement he is now probably on par or slightly better than our current midfield. Difference is they are all of a age to improve and get better he is going the other way! Look at Jobes improvement this season!

I don't think he walks straight in to the team, unless he is the Hederson of his Liverpool days and if he was that he would still be there! Alright maybe not that level as he would be well above us but that's probably how you are thinking of him.

We don't need him.The only thing he brings is experience...and our young players are acquiring that as we go along.

Doesn't look like they need a older pro to set an example in terms of professionalism or hard work either as they have it already in the team!

Exactly. The likes of Patto,Hume,Ballard,Cirkin,Neil and Jobe are accumulating experience match by match, and are now experienced players in this league. We've added Mepham and Browne, and we already have Luke and Pat Roberts. I'm not sure I understand the need to add further at this stage.

Not close enough to be his agent that’s for sure.

The problem with Henderson is he'd probably be on a wage where he'd need to be in the team every game to justify the money which means one of Jobe, Rigg and Neil who are probably our 3 most prized assets would have to drop out the side. Then you have Browne and Samed who you could argue both should be starting, Browne based on his championship career and his performances here already and Samed based purely on reputation (he could be **** for all I know). And then you have players like Aleksic who we paid a decent fee for who will need to play at some point.

I know it's a long season but are we not already stacked in midfield? We don't need to be blocking pathways.

We are attempting to be a sustainable club, I don't think spending massive wages on someone to be a mentor and play a bit part while blocking development of our young players is very sustainable at all.

Our January window should be looking at fullbacks.

Good post, agree with it all

Jobe plays no matter what and Neil gets straight back in after suspension, despite Browne playing brilliantly, I suppose he’s the captain :emoticon-0113-sleep We don’t need any additions in midfield.

Straight back in for Browne at Plymouth after missing Portsmouth through suspension. A game our midfield dominated with Browne scoring.

    Portsmouth were abysmal mind.

Although on current form I would absolutely have Browne ahead of Neil.

    Browne - Jobe - Rigg

I’d go with that at Hull, but have no doubt in my mind at all that Neil starts

Browne has lost his place in the Ireland squad now. He’ll be desperate to force his way in here and return to the next national squad. He’s been unlucky so far imo.
