Andres Iniesta is (finally) retiring at 40 years young.

Probably one of my top five favourite non-Spurs players of all time.

Absolutely phenomenal footballer.

I thinkRodgers and Schmeikell went to Celtic for an easy life and trophies playing the likes of Ross County.I wonder when Pep will take his turn at Celtic?

Vitoria Guimaraes are currently leading Slovenian champions Celje 2-0 in the Europa Conference.
Portugal is the same time zone as we are at the moment and there's basically nobody there. Ridiculous time for a midweek match.
The other game in that tournament is in Istanbul, so it's a bit better, but still too early.

Upamecano must be the most amazing trainer or something, because he's a ****ing liability in actual matches.
I'm sure he was good at Leipzig, but every time I see him playing for Bayern or France he's struggling and on the verge of getting sent off.

Will they be able to get up for their game against a **** team on the weekend, though? <whistle>
Utd went there in February in not too dissimilar circumstances (being shyte) and won 2-1 with McTominay getting a late winner.
It might be wildly optimistic to think that could happen again, but this game will have taken something out of Villa and that does hand Utd some advantage.
Duran is doing a great Solskjaer impression - scoring off the bench again.

Playing in Porto tomorrow's probably going to be quite draining for Utd, though. Also no McTominay goal from the bench.
Two massive games for Ten Hag. He tends to pull something out of the bag in those situations, though.

100% this, one day less rest, more travel than Villa as they were playing at home. You are correct though, Ten Haag has like 9 lives

I’ll give him credit for the F.A.Cup final, but if he gets any results from these two games this week, it will be down to good luck. Porto and Villa are full of players who look great for their clubs and Utd target to sign, but would be instantly crap if the move came off. These players no longer see a transfer to Utd as career progression - they are better off staying where they are.

Emery doing an unbelievable job at Villa, what a result for them. Martinez had to make two big saves but besides that they managed Bayern very well. Great goal from Duran too.

He's beaten Bayern with three different teams now - PSG, Villarreal and Aston Villa.

He seems to have their number.
Doesn't help that Bayern pretty much play into his hands each time they face one of his teams, though.

For yesterday's game, it was pretty obvious how both teams would set up. Bayern knew what he was going to do and they still had no answer. They only really started knocking on the door after Duran scored. Before that, they didn't have many chances at all.

Jhon Duran's post-match interview must've infuriated Villa fans. Talked up how big Bayern are and how he'd like to play for them. <doh>
To be fair 1. Hes right, they are. 2. I'm sure he would and 3. He's getting a few minutes as sub every game and just about the most positive thing about Villa this year.
