Jobe has just turned 19, food for thought, these young lads are going to go through bad spells and it is a normal part of development, any ire needs to be turned towards the bench for persisting with the player rather than the player themselves.
Agree. These young lads don't all physically develop at the same rate.....I mentioned Gerrard on another post somewhere as an example.
I think we are currently building a squad that can compete in the PL, and its starting show, this group looks settled, players are knowing their roles. I also think that if we do go up there may be a shift into our apporach to the transfer market, like we may spend more than we have, Partly down to promotion money that we will get. but as others have said no one knows what will happen until it happens, . I would say the one thing that could go our way is that we are being ran well for the first time possible since Quinn, Short just thew money at it and didnt think relegation was a thing

Sunderland diehards will love 'irritant' Aaron Connolly but defenders will hate him https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...derland-diehards-love-irritant-aaron-30011259 .... Speaking on Total Sport, BBC Humberside commentator Mike White gave his verdict on Connolly’s arrival on Wearside. White saw Connolly in action throughout last season and praised his natural goalscoring ability, predicting that Connolly will be a success at Sunderland, if he can stay fit. And White also reckons Connolly has the potential to become something of a cult hero among Black Cats fans. He said: “He’s an irritant. And I mean that for the opposition. He’s one of those players, if he’s on your side, you love him. If he’s on the opposition side, he winds you up beyond belief. He’ll annoy the defenders, he’ll try to get in their head, he probably is maybe having a little word with them and wind them up as well.”
More of a reply to both yourself & @Brainy Dose Might be a case of all our young players are good enough as they develop over the season, using the trio you both mention, lets say they all kick on even further, look good enough for the PL & are....might be more of a case of not all 3 at the same time, PL is not forgiving at all & totally different to 3 young kids running a game at championship level.....at that point we have a bizarre problem, three kids good enough for PL all need games & want every 38 games, yet we need to put an older head in there & possibly block their growth. All might/would be to good for championship which wont fit, but a PL loan would be to a rival so also no good Nice potential problem to have. Also consider i guess one may get injured, Rigg will have just turned 18....thats just wow if hes then good enough to be PL starter every game, might be the 3 need a little rotation which may disappoint if they continue as they are this season All in all this is a very exciting time for the club. Way we have been careful spend wise possible were currently looking at couple of big purchases if we were to go up, but assessing the attitude also wont spoil the spirit of the team.
Wouldn't have minded bring a fly on the wall when they had that conversation https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...rfAg_aem_UdHN1-CK8M0EQmRyP7zrFg&sfnsn=scwspmo
I love the way Regis conducts himself, he's a nice bloke but commands absolute respect. Exactly the type of character you want as head coach.
