No but Rosenior was manager last season and even when Allsop was having a bad spell he never gave Pandur any opportunity of a game, obviously Allsop was the favourite of Rosenior.

    Allsop is ****e.

I see he’s not even managed a single appearance for a ****ing League 1 club yet <laugh>

It’s criminal how many games he played here last season, probably the #1 reason that cost Rosey his job, and us a play off spot.

Hmmm, slagging off Allsop is a proxy for being mean to Rosenior.

    That’s not on

We were also in the run in for a play off place and if he'd brought Pandur in and he'd behaved as he did during pre-season Rosenior would have had pelters.

Nowhere else to put this but this shows we’ve not been that bad. We’ve been at about a midtable level. Appreciate it doesn’t reflect the whole story but a good measure of the season so far

It helps that we scored 3 in a single game to bring that average up. We've still only scored 0.8 goals a game but conceded 1.2.

If you want to be kind about what we've seen so far, Walter's style seems to account for conceding goals. As others have mentioned before, his style wants the other team to attack as it helps his team create space and outnumber the opponent players in their defensive third, hopefully scoring as a result. However, in some of the games we've played, we've been easily undone by teams getting compact and sitting deep.

Considering Acun hired Walter for his different style of attacking football, I don't think there are that many differences between his and Rosenior's styles. Both systems rely on the opposition pressing or committing players forward to allow space and a numerical advantage to be created elsewhere on the pitch, it's how they tempt teams that seems to differ. Rosenior's style invited a press through passing at the back, but if teams stayed resolute and resisted temptation, it didn't work. They'd take a drawer and move on. It feels as though Walter's style wants teams to think that committing players forward will genuinely lead to an easy goal, making it harder to resist pushing players upfield. If you look at Hamburger SV in 22/23, they conceded 1.3 goals a game, but they scored an average of 2. We still have some way to go to get up to what is needed for his style to be productive, as it's very unlikely he'll change to a more pragmatic defensive approach. If he did, we'd end up with Roseyball 2.0.

The signs for this season are getting brighter than they were though, so that's a good start.

I suppose that's were the weighted element of it comes in. In the Stoke game we scored 3 but that came from an xG of about 1.9 (about 1 of which will have come from the penalty and subsequent rebound)

It's the second game we've outperformed our xG the first being Plymouth so we have been due.

We’ve also seen Sheff U massively outperform theirs so it’s all skewed really. For where the squad is at, the underlying numbers are decent.
