There will inevitably be problems initially but hopefully not as much carnage and death of innocents as there has been ... and will continue to be without an International led initiative ...
Who assumes the mandate of governance once sovereignty is granted to Palestine and how/by what process are they granted that power? In fact, who even negotiates on behalf of Palestine to secure sovereignty in the first place? Or is it granted unilaterally and amorphously, as many western countries now (stupidly) believe is sensible?
That I can't answer - hopefully a Palestinian leader with no ties to Hamas or terrorism emerges - perhaps from exile - I don't think 'ordinary Gazans' are in any doubt about Israeli destructive capability now and I suspect the vast majority just want a life free of wanton death and destruction - I accept that there will still be some fanatics and there will be a generation (or more) of angry young men given what has happened- but the prospect of their own Homeland would go some way to diluting that ... the alternative is horribly depressing ... it's a never ending war that can never be won ...
