Streets of Rage was the game to have definitely. Golden Axe was badass too, like a medieval version with this little awesome dwarf. Had an Atari ST before that too with some really great games, The Killing Game Show was fantastic, you had to get to the top of the level before the rising lava reached you by trying to find keys to get through doors while shooting the crap out of everything in sight. Neat feature was if you died you got to fast forward through your previous attempt up to the point where you think you started going wrong and continue from there.
Golden Axe was mental Where the guy was insanely muscley and wore basically **** all? Never had an Atari, was before my time! (Technically the Mega Drive was too, wasn't it released 89/90?) But I've always wanted to get one still. That game sounds pretty sweet! Never had an N64 as a kid and I always wanted one. So bought one off eBay last year with Zelda and went mental.
class games also altered beast the bloke used to say raise from your grave but whoever they got to sample the voice had a lisp so it sounded like waise from your grawe
Haha yeah that was it, quality game. I got a load of emulators a few years ago to relive some of those games but it doesn't beat the actual thing. I never had an N64 though and never played Zelda either but loads of my school mates were always going on about Zelda and I used to wish I had a Nintendo so I'd know what the hell they were talking about .
Yeah I remember that! Altered Beast was immense. I had something else called Shadow of the Beast which was pretty similar and great too.
Yeah I've had loads of emulators, never the same though! Still play the Mega Drive sometimes though, still got it back in Lincoln. Me and my mate used to play it during 6th form at lunch times a few years ago. And sometimes didn't go in so we could complete Streets of Rage Yeah, Ocarina of Time, it's a bloody fantastic game. Never played it until I got it last year. Me and the girlfriend spent a week solid playing it all day every day over the summer.
N64 was the best console ever. Zelda and Goldeneye were soooo good, I do not think there has been a better game than Zelda. Also multiplayer on Goldeneye was class, going on 'slappers only' and trying to slap each other to death, or hiding proximity mines on the notice board on Facility. Good times.
you can get most of them for the pc free with a emulator and **** loads of games http://www.emulator-zone.com/ <this is not rick astley MAME's a good one
Awesome, I'll probably end up giving it a go at some point. I'm not really all that into computer games but I can't help but love the old ones . I remember about 10 years ago now, my sister's boyfriend and me went out to try and get every Sonic the Hedgehog game made and complete them all as fast as possible. Was nostalgic at the time but would be even better now! I have competitions with my girlfriend on a Mega Drive game called Global Gladiators which was some McDonalds game where you're this kid who has to shoot slime monsters the best bit about it though is a hidden game where you have to throw falling litter into the right bins before it settles on the floor while avoiding falling anvils. Would make an amazing flash game.
You would notice that... I wish I had a TV, just so that I could indulge in retro gaming without using emulators and awkward joypad support. Only got two 24" monitors with HDMI/VGA/DVI input
as tomski set the trend i've got my crimbo avatar up and running unlike some ****ers where i live who've had their decorations up since early November
