I think Villa are a far superior side at this point...Newcastle finshed 4th once, but Aston Villa are genuinely there.... they're one of the best in the country now. This shouldn't be too much of surprise because they're a good few years ahead of Newcastle off the pitch. Newcastle will come again in a year or two, but right now the club got stuck in the mud...people are looking for someone to blame, but the financial rules lead to making difficult decisions.
We were literally ahead of them in the table with 2 minutes of the matches to play yesterday And that's before we did the double over them last season completely outplaying them both times. "Aston Villa are genuinely there"....what after 5 games, and when we're level with Arsenal, Spurs are 10th and Man U are in the bottom half? They're ain't superior to us, the bookies odds for Villa finishing in the top 4 are literally the same as for us.
