Rushworth is obviously coming in sooner or later, might as well do it now. Drameh might start ahead of Giles. God knows who plays the DM role this week. Palmer might come in for Ömür (though I think it's a bad look for the management if they can't find a way of getting something out of Ömür as a starter). And I'd expect to see Millar for Kamara.

I didn't think Kamara did too bad on his wrong side. Maybe he comes in for Belloumi?

I thought Kamara was embarrassingly soft on a few occasions, and sort of casual with his passing at times too. Clearly has a nice touch but I was a bit troubled by what I saw on his debut.

Nothing quite came off for him but he was there and trying, up against a very good RB in Gilchrist too.

Perhaps. But then wasn't Belloumi also a bit casual, especially for the goal?

Baz's predicted starters has both Palmmer and Omur as the the DMs with Zambrano as the holding midfielder. We just need Zambrano to play there not as center forward and it might work.

The teams response to the Sheffield United game will be telling. As much as Walter has exclaimed his satisfaction with the performance, he has to have seen how open and vulnerable we were.

If we see no change to this at all, then we really are down schitt creek without a paddle. I’m hoping to see a much improved performance, with more solidity and a bit more creativity. Come away with a point and a win against Cardiff and I still might think there’s hope for Walter yet.

Anything less than this and I think he really will be on borrowed time.

Yes for the goal. Watching it back I can't even understand what floors him. He just seems to drop for no reason as if he's in a video game or something.

On the other hand I thought his attempt to get back was creditable, and I didn't notice anything else along those lines in the game from him.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if Mehlem is dropped. He's one of the few players I've been reasonably happy with from an attacking point of view this season.

He's certainly shown something. Probably our most threatening midfielder so far with the header last week and the goal Vs wendies in the cup.

Granted it's not a particularly high bar at the moment given Coyle has probably contributed as much as anyone in an attacking sense overall. But then most of the attacking players have only been here a couple of weeks, and the system is still alien so it's difficult to judge definitively any of them so far.

Surprised he started, and then surprised he wasn't hooked at HT.
Should never have been dropped in at the deep end so soon.

Watching it back, I thought Giles started brightly enough, but his head dropped after their goal and got gradually more frustrated, so I could see the decision to sub him off, but honestly thought Kamara had a better half than Belloumi, so as you say, why not hook Belloumi and switch Kamara to his actual position. Seemed harsh.

    Team I’d like to see:

    Rushworth
    Drameh
    Hughes
    Jones
    Coyle
    Slater or Zambrano
    Millar
    Omur
    Palmer or Mehlem
    Belloumi
    Bedia

Obviously Hughes might not be available, in which case McLoughlin will be back in.
