We get them every two years here. It was everyone over 50 but the age has been dropped this year to everyone 45 and over. Just did my last one about a month ago. Got the results through a week later to say I’m clear. Whilst I wouldn’t ordinarily stick bits of plastic into my poo then store it in the fridge until I collect the next one I have to agree with many on here it’s a life saver. The little bit of indignity and revulsion that will only be seen by the person doing it anyway is a very small price to pay for your health.
I agree and that’s sensible However we are not on about sensible prisoners These recidivists will commit crimes and return Nevertheless if the correct prisoners are selected Your point could work In my day I was responsible to select the correct prisoners but sometimes I was forced to pick the wrong ones that ended up been not my decision And management took the responsibility Every time And rightly so
It has a good reputation, we looked there when we moved to Witton Gilbert but couldn't find what we wanted at a price we could afford. It has some good pubs and restaurants and good countryside around with some good farm shops. If you need transport to the match we run a bus to all home games leaving at 12.30pm for 3pm KOs and 6pm for night matches.
Aye, Lanchester's nice. Probably got its ropey parts same as most places, but it's generally nice. Was there last week for Sunday dinner in the King's Head. Easy enough to get to Durham city centre, Arnison centre, Consett, Stanley etc, A1. The Mrs drives through to get to work (UHND) and has no issues during the winter, roads seem well gritted...it does get a fair bit of snow!! Nice place, Lanchester.
It's nominally the Langley Park bus but as the bus depot is at Stanley and we have members in Lanchester we got it to come via Lanchester and Quebec on the way to Langley Park and then pick ups at Witton Gilbert, Sacriston and Framwellgate Moor. Our timings are from Langley Park so I should have quoted it 15mins earlier for Lanchester i.e. 12.15pm and 5.45pm.
I’m 2 miles up the hill . Lanchester a nice looking place to start with , I believe it’s a council favourite , so pull out the stops to keep it good . Main problem is if you buy on outskirts and want to drive to centre , parking can be a prob , just too many houses have been built around a small centre. Any way, if you do go there , as I say I’m near for the housewarming
Thanks for the feedback all, it's a part of Durham (everything immediately west of Durham City) that I'm not too familiar with, I have lived in south west Durham and in one of the A1 corridor towns near Sunderland before, but the houses and streets in Lanchester always looked quite nice, in contrast with Consett or Stanley, for example.
. When you have a bit of a clear out in Lanchester the rubbish tip is handy, just up the road . It’s called Annfield Plain . Part of it is even a waste disposal site.
Little girl's first sleepover at a friend's house today. She was super excited about it and has had a great time by all accounts but I can't say I've enjoyed it. Bit like dropping her off for her first day at school but with a different type of concern.
Cheers lads, as you say she'll be fine it's just difficult when they move outside of your sphere of protection isn't it. Looking forward to seeing her tomorrow morning and checking in.
She's got the general appearance and demeanour of someone who's been on the bender of a lifetime (don't think she got much sleep if any) but back safe and sound. Off to swimming now, going to be interesting to see just how wrecked she is later on
My eldest had hers a couple of weeks ago too, she struggles with separation anxiety when she's not here or her mam's. I was up most of the night expecting a call to pick her up.... thankfully she had a great time. Just sat putting all the school dates into the calendar..got to year 6 leavers party and preparations for leaving school... proper lump in my throat. Have to do it all again in 2 years for my youngest daughter! Time is a going way too fast.
