I listened to an Athletic podcast explaining this move the other day. Basically he's still on a contract he signed in the Championship so hasn't made a huge amount of money considering his age and ability, and none of the big PL teams who you'd expect to sign him are really in a position to do so now for various reasons. So he's sort of stuck with Saudi. Does seem a waste though.

Think someone might've done a year ago but he had his ban. Then when he came back from that, it's just the wrong time for all the clubs that could afford him in this country.

Leeds have signed Al Tanaka from Fortuna Dusseldorf. Wonder if fans will say he can’t be up to much playing in Bundesliga 2 like our lot do?
