He’s had 25 touches in the first half and 14/14 successful passes. 1 shot off target and 1/3 successful dribbles

Really doesn’t make sense to me. All the evidence suggests Walter uses a midfield with a holding midfielder with two #8s either side that are expected to cover a lot of ground. Mehlem plays a bit higher but he’s still a #8 who does a lot of work out of possession just like Slater and even Ömür. Puerta also seems to fit that profile too. We don’t play to the strengths of a #10 who isn’t expected to track back.
