It’s a really strange one. I know you shouldn’t believe everything you read on Wikipedia, but it says his most of his family are Hull City fans, his dad supports West Ham and he grew up supporting Leeds, despite being from Hull. Perhaps it’s immature of me but if this is true, no thanks!
His agent probably just said to acun Hes a local lad from academy Its a true coming home story He loves the club
I doubt ( and really hope ) he's not coming in to be a starter, if he's coming in on a low wage to add almost 400 career games worth of experience to the dressing room and training ground ( plus cover for the worst injury crisis ) then fair enough. But anything more is a poor signing
It is He cant play a full season anyway Injury prone Still its a few k a week id rather acun spent on literally anything else
It’s a disappointing signing, he’s 33 next week, has been injured a lot in recent seasons and wasn’t all that great even in his prime. If someone’s told Acun that this is a player homecoming, that the fans will be happy with, he’s been really poorly advised.

How much was on at Leeds, roughly? I swear I read he’s had offers from Blackburn and Derby as well. Don’t know why we’re signing him at all. More worryingly, I don’t know why he’s agreed to come here to be fifth-choice centre-half (hopefully nothing more), unless he’s been offered a decent amount of money.
Maybe the leader in the dressing room, in the same mould as a Ashbee..though I guess Coyle still wear the armband on the field.
It’s a strange one as I had a chat with him about 10 days ago and he said that he had some talks with City at the start of pre season but they wanted to look at younger players instead. He was then offered a deal at Blackburn and loved Eustace but the board pulled the plug on a 2 year deal with them and changed it to a year so he called it off. Said he really wanted to go and play abroad and was looking at a couple of options. Wanted a 2 year deal somewhere and a year didn’t interest him so I wonder if it is a 2 year on low wages, just for experience in the dressing room.
£25k a week apparently, but no-one was going to match that in his next deal. Hopefully we’ve signed him on a pay as you play deal, then don’t play him, as revenge for that tweet.
It’s astonishing that we are actually signing him this is a completely weird decision by whoever made it.
