If I have to tell you... just stop a second and think...

You don't have to. It's rhetorical. My point is stupid club decisions have forced us to reduce the expectations. If you finish 7th then sack your manager. The expectation is immediately 6th and above. So realistically we should expect to beat Bristol City, Plymouth and Millwall. Unfortunately club decisions mean our team isn't fully ready so forced drop in expectations. Doesn't mean we can't be disappointed by that.

If everyone improved every year equally they'd finish in the sane spot every year. At the end of the day we're a team in transition who lost most of their best players, have a new manager with a new style and we're at the start of the cycle again. The end of the last cycle last year should've been a promotion push and it didn't, and we're back to the drawing board.

Hull City head coach Tim Walter told BBC Radio Humberside:

"It was frustrating because we didn't score but I still see the willingness from the lads.

"They try to improve themselves and and implement my philosophy - it's all you can have as a gaffer.

"It was a difficult game for us because they played long balls from all over the pitch so you have a lot of interruptions.

"You have to focus all the time and it's not easy, but the lads did a good job."

Millwall head coach Neil Harris told BBC Radio London:

"Hull had a lot of the ball and showed their capabilities of keeping possession without always really hurting us.

"We felt we had attributes that would cause them real problems and the fact we've come off disappointed that we've not won is telling really, especially in the first half where we had three or four clear-cut opportunities and we should have scored.

"Ultimately I'm really pleased for us to get a point and keep a clean sheet."

If we had the talent of the end of last season at our disposal now then even Arveladze would be getting 6-9 points from these games.

But we ain't got that talent.
That's the point, fixture was there for a long time, we knew we start at home with 2 weak and 1 mid level team, but we decided to start this period with a weaker squad. Now 2 parachute teams are waiting, 5 games with 3 points very likely.

For a non-Brit he uses gaffer a lot. It took me a year to get used to this vocabulary when I was in UK. He is really trying to fit in.

We will score and win some games
But itll never be consistent when our whole attacking philosophy is crosses
You only make half chances from those

Its also a system thats never had actual success

All I saw was TW continually throwing his hands in the air, and mouthing some words and they weren't in praise ..
My prediction of a soon to be achieved place in the bottom 5, might be a tad generous.

Tbh I would have been very happy with 4 points by the close of the window I suspected it would be difficult to even get those considering but we still have a chance to get the 4 or even 6 which would be great.

I agree crossing is dead. When Germany scored 7 goals against Brazil, and most of them were passes from corner side to center, coffin is nailed at highest level. Going to byline and randomly passing from sides to middle penalty zone or a bit behind is way more effective than crosses now.

You don't plan for a season by looking at the first 3 games...

In the six games we played against Bristol City, Plymouth and Millwall last season under Rosenior, we only won one, lost two and drew three. 6 out of 18 points.

EDIT: bad maths

No rush
I’m still happy about the short sighted bloke sharing a taxi with me this morning at about 3.30am giving me a fiver that turned out to be a £20 <cheers>

As I said earlier, you must be pleased that the whole stadium respected your wish for silence because you would have a hangover.

Going how we finished last season. Yes it was probably a fair expectation. Bristol City, Plymouth amd Millwall. Realistic to expect 6, 7 or 9 points.
64/68 goals gone…

We’d all have loved to keep the squad from last season but we haven’t. Most of these lads are playing their first games together FFS, why do people ignore this

I'm not going to say we had a great preseason. We didn't.

But that team we finished last season with was getting gutted whatever happened. We were always starting this season weaker and it was always going to take time.

Then we've got the Blunts...A poor start might turn into a worrying one. Need at least a point from each to reduce the doubts...

Its okay
Once we have the best squad in the league we will be dominating
As we cant play magic ball without the best of the best
