We have 6.

2 of them are injured right now, but 1 is back in a week
Ballard, O’Nien and Alese are decent options. Anderson will surely be gone. Seelt probably out until Christmas. Triantis touted for a loan, Johnson very inexperienced. Hjelde an option but hasn’t been great. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us sign a CB but on reflection I’d probably rather strengthen at fullback.

He’ll definitely be away, not quite good enough for the level we’re at

RLB has already said we won't be signing a RB

Hume
O'Nien
Ballard
Alese
Hjelde
Triantis
Cirkin
Johnson

Is adequate cover IMHO with Seelt and Huggins to join the group in the new year
But I was talking about if we loan out Johnson and Triantis which have both been rumoured! That will leave us short.

His club have been a complete disgrace, we’ve increased our bid and met halfway they should’ve just compromised.

they’ve now got an unhappy player on good money doing laps and nothing else.
I think that is a bit harsh on the new owners of Caen personally. They have come in with a different ambition to the last lot it seems to me. They value their top goalscorer much higher than the last lot. I see no reason for them to sell at a price they deem cheap. Imagine if KLD had come in and continued with some of the deal making Donald had done. We wouldnt have been happy, and rightly so.

At the end of the day Mendy is contracted to Caen and he needs to fulfill his obligations. It absolutely drives me mad when I see players kicking up a fuss to get the move they want. Some of his social media stuff has not sat well with me at all. Imagine if Clarke suddenly downed tools because we rejected a bid from Ipswich. Last thing I would do is compromise on a fee because of it. Players want all the power and all the rewards, with no risk. Life isnt like that I am afraid.

This. As much as it’s nice that Mendy wants to sign for us - it’s his problem that he’s gone on strike. Not ours. And not Caens either really. Whilst he’s been unfortunate it’s not worked out for him - it’s on him, not us.

With how similar they look, could Simic be that RS replacement finally? Also I wonder what the fee is.

if I had to guess. I reckon €3.5m upfront going up to about €5m in add ons and a 20-30% sell on

Transfermarkt has him at €6m and they usually land on the lower end of valuations, I can only presume if his contract only has a year left that Salzburg are willing to deal at a lower price, because I feel like €6m is above an amount we've comfortable dealing at. I could be totally wrong and we're spending big, but my instinct tells me otherwise.
