I personally can't see Isidor playing LW here when he comes in. He is labelled and labels himself as a striker, had his best goalscoring season upfront and the people who are mentioning his best recent season (22/23), he also had one more goal contribution in his games upfront than he did on the wing in that season. That was 11 games CF and 13 games on the wing. He also has been played upfront since. 6ft 1 too so I think he fits that mobile pressing forward type we are after
Simic is in his last year and rejected a new contract, wouldn't be shocked if it was a few million upfront with add ons and a hefty sell on
That's an interesting comment. Richard Wilson does a football podcast on all the old Yugoslavian countries, so presumably is aware of Simic' ability.
on paper this would arguably be at least a top 3 striker signed by a championship side this summer big statement
Not sure re Rusyn, but Mundle will be the next cab off the rank and whilst he may need some time to learn on the job, we have sufficient squad depth (Poveda, Ba, potentially Isidor) that he can be rotated in and out the team. It's a massive bonus we have Alese and Cirkin fit (for now) to add greater balance to the left hand side and provide real support to Mundle (or whoever) so if he leaves, the Clarke hole won't be as massive as it would have been this time, last season.
Not really true or how it works. We paid far less than that. Plymouth paid about a million for Whittaker. Better players do exist, it’s finding them at the right time.
I'd love to think that we plan to really push for promotion this season and buy Simic and Isidor, along side keeping Clark. If we do this, IMO we may well get promoted but if not we'll go very close. If we fail than Clark can go with our blessing along with a big chuck of cash next season.
This simic deal will be the next Jack Clarke for value if he adapts to England. could be a 15-20 million pound plus sale for us in the future. Jesus
