Why are you all arguing about law breakers being jailed?

Rioting is illegal. Looting is illegal. Being present at either puts you in the frame for prosecution.

Apparently they were the good guys. It's always someone else's fault for those lot, they're always the victims <wah>

There are several lines being pushed. My own is pretty much what you've said, but with the additional observations on other crimes that haven't been treat equivalently.

Some others are trying to argue solely along the lines you mention, which to me is futile. Apart from being arseholes for doing it in the first place, they ****ed the message for the peaceful majority, and gave Starmer a lazy excuse to smear people who are pointing at Government failings.

The ones trying to stick solely to the rioters are just narrow minded and building their own fantasy versions of other peoples views, as it suits their own prejudice and agenda. They're best just ignored.

The tweet 30p was referring to was dated 14th, not the 15th as he claimed in his letter. IF the claim is he was referring to a different tweet on the 15th, then he attached the wrong tweet to his letter or was being deliberately misleading.

The man who set the Leeds bus alight originally pleaded not guilty and was remanded, he changed his plea yesterday via HMP videolink, at the same time as fresh evidence appeared, but his legal team want to review the fresh evidence first. The people in the riots all pleaded guilty so were dealt with straight away.

From what I saw there was nothing peaceful about any of the "white riots". It was violence and theft from the outset.

Labelling the whole thing as "far right" is dangerous as disingenuous.

I've certainly seen credible evidence on the BBC of all places where there is no doubt of political/religious/ethnic discrepancy in the sentences meted out to lawbreakers.

This "two tier", real or not, is inherently dangerous in the extreme.

I'm afraid if it continues we will have social cataclysm.

You're conflating the protests with the riots. They're very different things. If you only know what you read, rather than having first hand knowledge it's an easy trap to fall in to.

So, first hand knowledge of being in a protest/riot allows me to say it's not a riot?

The law disagrees.

Apply the law evenly to all. Nothing else is required. If some sections of society disagree then tough ****. Go live in another society.

I have no idea what you're trying to say in that first sentence, but your earlier comments strongly suggest that you think everyone at the initial protests was somehow also a rioter, which is total nonsense. The destructive events were in different locations to the protest in most cases, and the biggest events had absolutely zero disorder.

As for equality, that's all that people are asking, but it's clearly not what is happening. Nick Lowles spread misinformation about acid attacks which lead to left wing riots. He hasn't even been questioned and of the few arrested from the left, they got treat differently.

Lowles runs HopenotHate, which has a history or misinformation, and is linked to the SWP, who seem to be the ones organising the fake news about further riots to encourage left wing protests. The fact they are closely linked to Labour adds to the claims of two tier treatment.
