I was part of the exodus from BBC 606 to here in 2011. I used to post regularly and was previously a mod.
I have posted less and less as Parkinson's Disease has taken hold of me. By the time I have thought of something to post and typed it, someone else has got there ahead of me.
So forgive me if I don't respond or post as often as I used to do. Life is good, it just takes me longer to read, think, understand and type.

I’ve been there with serious health issues @Chunksafc and it is very difficult at times to see some positivity when you are going through it. I did however find that talking to people about it helped a great deal just knowing that support was there. Don’t bottle things up get it out . Take care and hope all is good soon.
I was on the original 606 site, bit not for Sunderland. I was part of the horse racing site. When it folded a lot of us rocked up on another site which we managed ourselves and I helped moderate. I dont think I ever posted footy stuff but my username was three_out or similar.
Once kids landed my days of racing were curtailed. Also became a bit too focussed on gambling so had to knock it on the head.
Joined here a couple of years ago. Enjoy it massively. It is like a little north eastern village for me. I am exiled so this is a bit of a refuge for me. Love the opinions and knowledge on here. Loads of great posters who know their onions and are passionate about the lads. 99% of it is respectful which is important to me. I doubt I would hang around for too much nonsense - I havent the patience.
Never been on any other social media site. Dont do twitter etc, get lost when folk reference rtg as have never really heard of it. 1 place is enough for me and this seems a good un.

We're lucky having yourself covering scouting, FellTop on coaching and SourPatch on data all offering quality opinions based on experience in your respective fields. You (and other similarly knowledgeable posters) are a real boon to the forum.

I was on RTG from 2002 and at times it was hilarious with some very funny contributors . Cant remember why but joined here 2015, i think it was the start of RTG turning . Anyway i think we get real considered football talk on here where opposing opinions are listened too . Just don't mess up on your password as its a right chew on to get back .. took me 6 months

Was an RTG regular for many years. But it really did turn to ****e. Whilst some good, sound posters remain, week moderation has meant they are drowned out.
Think I came across in 2020. Can not believe it's been 4 years already! Been great. I haven't checked RTG even once since I moved across and have asked others to not send me screen shots when it inevitably gets toxic. This has helped significantly TBH.

I used to read the bbc 606 site and joined here when they closed it down. This place is no where near what is the mad house of readytogo pure football but it does have it's moments and the odd spat between posters. At one stage there was a mutiny with Cyprus Syd setting up his own board.
We have lost some great posters over the years but have also gained a lot of knowledgeable new posters too.
Living down south I tend to go to more away games than home games and have met up with a few great people on here.

Post on both but RTG is a sad pale shadow of its former self. Where once you could give a bit and take it back and everyone just got on with it is long gone. It's absolutely toxic at the moment and 100% is not a good or fair representation of Sunderland fans. There's a clique of posters who offer absolutely nothing other than negativity with every fkn post, it's tiring. I don't think I'll bother with the place ever again.

I was absolutely wrecked with it and spent my days on RTG as that’s where I went for my Sunderland info/rumours/gossip. Like a few on here, health issues make you evaluate things more clearly and I suddenly didnt like the tone of a lot of the posts.
I found this place and it has been an excellent replacement for RTG in the main, decent posters and not too much unnecessary aggro.

Great point that. Probably interacted more with people on here and on bbc site than I have with some of my own direct family!!

I met a lot of posters form RTG, alot I knew already but didn't know until I arranged a charity game in 2010 ish, we had one for the next 4 years but was ruined by certain posters who were only in it for themselves. Some great great lads, but some absolute whoppers over there, I did find one of the online "bullies" after they gave it BIlly Big Bollocks and went far over the line, it got personal and threatened my family, bad move. He has closed all of his social media accounts and went into hiding, he's one a few in a certain clique that like to jump on the abuse wagon to support their moronic mates and call in "Banter"

I probably know thirty people on there and have helped them with tickets etc. As you say some cracking lads, some I have as actual friends. I keep an account for messaging people but I rarely look and never post, after many years I'm still posted about weekly apparently.
I've been threatened quite a few times over there. The best was when one imbecile said he was coming past my address, with two workmates in a Transit van, so would call in to duff me up. I stood outside on my own, but next to a wheelie bin full of weapons
He rang and said they were on my estate but couldn't find the house so had left

I had one come to the Charity Football and when I introduced myself shrivelled like a little girl, he was previously going to knock my block off. He was a little scrawny gobshite.
Tees got in touch via PM and is going to give it a break for the foreseeable. I replied that he's part of our village, a cornerstone, and to try and get back posting as soon as he can.
