Going to as well. Bloke is constantly either arguing with people or looking for sympathy, like a spoilt kid.
I think this thread just recognises the frustration for all fans. No matter which side of the Speakman fence you sit on it is getting to people the fact it is so clear where our on field issues lie. I understand the sustainability approach and I also understand frustration because other teams appear to be signing new players. We really all want the same - a team giving it a go and hopefully pushing forward I do however think without a couple of further additions even the most "happy clapper" a phrase I hate mind, will begin to ask serious questions Anyway on to Wednesday on a Sunday!!!
No idea but I don’t know how accurate transfermarkts injury recording data is either tbh obviously it won’t record fitness issues maybe just reported injuries? I had doubts about his ability when we signed him but I’ve heard personally from a professional footballer who’s played with him and also I think Ballard came out and said pretty much the same thing that he’s very talented so that’s why I’m doubting his fitness over the years. How can a player so highly regarded not get a start for Blackpool in that relegation season?
Kind of feels like we are being trapped by our own model in a way. We love and need Clarke but he is our only main sellable asset in order for us to push on and spend money on a quality striker and a few others. Just have to prey we don't panic and end up signing any old ****e like usual
I’m in the positive camp but if we don’t get a striker in there’s nowhere to hide for Speakman. Other clubs have brought in strikers of varying quality without too much fuss, there have been players available. I will say none have been signed that have blown my mind and make me wish it was us in our league, but plenty who would have done a job. Attacking each other and name calling though? Ha’way. There’s plenty of debate to be had and actually most of the positive will engage in that with this seeing things the other way. That’s the point of a forum. It falls down when folk refuse to engage and discuss those opinions when they don’t agree and lash out. Let’s stick together till deadline day at least…
Bob is more than likely stating that figure as that's want we want after spurs cut. Do the maths and it will get close to 25m before it.
The reality is, I wouldn’t want to sell Jacky. If he does sign this extension, it gets us a rumor free year and protects the fee for next summer if we aren’t competing to go up, the lad gets a richly deserved few quid extra for his loyalty. There’s only Neil I’d keep before Clarke and that’s certainly related as much to the bond as ‘one of our own’ as ability and impact on team. The way Jacky interacted with fans after scoring was absolutely not the behaviour of a lad wanting away. If a player of that calibre wants to stay, you try and keep him. Yes, sales will have to be made in time. We lost too much from the side currently if he goes. Ekwah, Patto, dare I say even big Dan, all easier to replace.

That would be my take on the figures quoted. £18 million net would give us a nice bit of room for incomings. Though how well the club spend it is anyone's guess.
Things starting to move. Once the PL teams nail down their squads, there will be more movement in the EFL I reckon. Needs to be a Broadhead not a Burstow when we do move for a PL loan.
