I remember when Peterbrough signed him for about 2m in league 1 when we were in there and being jelous. This all seems abit deja vu from where we are now watching Championship rivals spending when we still havent spent a penny yet
Yeah I know what you mean, frustrating window to say the least! It’ll ramp up eventually hoping to get a serious report this weekend and have someone wrapped up next week to ease nerves
They also signed that Dembele aswell who was a cracking little player. Hes in the Championship now but i cant remember which club? Yeah its very very frustrating to say the least, more so when we see our fans queuing up from 5am for a shirt and filling the Sol. We deserve so much more.
Was at Birmingham last I saw no idea if he’s still there though, we don’t ask for much mind few nice kits and they had us back in the palm of their hands, still time like but I’ve been saying that the last 3 windows
He was class that season when they got promoted and beat us. Just saying mate. Not saying he's a world beater by any means, but he played a big part in getting Peterborough promoted. We're now seeing the it again now from rivals from a different level
What we are seeing is clubs selling to buy. We aren't doing the selling part so we can't do the buying part.
got promoted 2020-21 season and we drew with them at their place mcgeady scoring late on after dembele had scored and beat them at home, late pen from Leadbitter. dembele played well that season but think league 1 was/is about his level
I'm a bit sceptical of how his game will translate into the PL. He won't be playing up front I don't think as PL defenders will destroy him physically so he'll probably play as one of the two 10s. Glad he's out the league though.
yeah that’s the main thing for me haha, rare Ipswich make a bad signing too, fancy them to stop up, awful start though Liverpool then city
The gulf between PL and Championship is huge so I still think they'll go down with Southampton and Leicester but Ipswich will put up the best fight.
Its such a boring debate im done with it now.. Alls im saying is as a club of our size with our fanbase and loyalty we deserve so much more, and our recruitment team are letting us down massively so why shouldn't we be allowed a voice??? Unfortunately his plane had to detour through the Bermuda triangle and its gone now, never to be seen again.
It is a boring debate, the fact is nobody in this league is spending without selling. Just isn't happening.
Understandable how itchy the fanbase is at the moment, can't speak to a Sunderland fan without them mentioning "we just need a striker". It's been the topic for most SAFC conversations for nearly two years. Worrying, that feeling that we are sleep walking into another deadline day, with this looming over our heads. I do think we will get there, I'm optimistic most of the time.
This is the embarrassing stat. Other than Jobe, who have we paid money for recently thats been worth it??
