I hope this is not true, but I just heard that Brighton have triggered a £40m release clause on Rutter. Have any of you heard anything about that? If this is true, then we are truly ****ed!
Yes I've heard it too. Could also not be the only one. We will find out soon enough but it doesn't bode well.
Well, it is true It is all up to Rutter if he wants to stay or go. And why the hell would he stay, exspect Gnoto to be the next one
The Athletic reported at and now picked up elsewhere. Brighton made a bid of £29m a few weeks ago rejected, then a £35m bid rejected but the release clause has now been met and it’s now up to the player. After tonight’s shytshow I would go and get a big pay rise and do it in the premier league. Olympic Marseille have gone back in for Jonny Rowe with a loan bid with an obligation to buy? A great end to a shyt day
Absolutly, if Rutter goes then Leeds will be on top of the list of the 10 biggest seller club. We will leapfrog Villa £109m with our £140m. And we have spent about £15m
And yet Rutter came on as a sub. Not normal if you're about to sell a £40m+ asset. He'd be at home wrapped in cotton wool. Well, that's my hope anyway .....
I don't think there is an release clause I think the 49ers have spent the summer test Brighton's resolve and got the price they wanted. Using this clause **** as an excuse so they can blame Radz and Orta knowing it will make the fans hate them all. I warned you all **** like this would happen last summer.
When you sign someone for £35.5m a £40m release clause makes no sense. Good to see you posting again @FollowMe&LeedsUnited I did see on Twitter you’ve not had the best of times, hope things are improving
Just read and it's in line with what I was told previously, the fee was £24m with £12m add ons, non of the add ons have been met, PL appearances, goals scored, France caps.
If we sold Rutter then Leeds will top the list of money coming in from transfers for the whole of Europe.
49ers want it known, they are doing everything in their power to try and get him to stay, including offering a new improved contract. That pr machine keeps turning and they think we're all ****ing stupid.
This might be controversial and I do understand why but I'm gonna say it anyway. If Rutter leaves then it's a big opportunity for the club to get a proper 10 in. He doesn't score goals, he gets caught in possession too often and tries to do everything on his own. He's not a 9, he's not a great 10, he can't really have the same impact out wide and he doesn't have the nous to play in midfield. It feels like we shoehorn him in because he is a very good player. It doesn't really work as a shape. Saying that....he is one of our best players. Over to the 49ers to spend some ****ing cash and build a squad in 3 weeks.
