I know he wasn't liked there and the fans have wanted him gone for a while but sacking him one game into the new season after working all summer with that coach and recruiting for his style is bad. Heavy rumours Browne left because of him so they let a cracking player leave just to sack Lowe after one game.
Plymouth must be gutted. They loved Ryan Lowe and would definitely have taken him back if he'd been available in the summer.
Madness mate. Absolutely mental. I know PNE were one of the favourites for the drop this season. Interesting to see who they go for now
Breaking News - Sunderland are due to appoint an assistant to Régis Le Bris. He's believed to be a Championship manager who's resigned to take up his new role. Sunderland will pick him up tomorrow night and he'll be returning on the team coach. His identity is not yet known but Sunderland supporters will, no doubt, be pleased to see the position has been filled.
I've seen a few people say Preston were silly to "let Browne leave" (on twitter not here), but to be clear Preston didn't "let him leave". They offered him a pay increase and three year deal and he refused to sign it. They did everything they could to keep him.
Rooney seems to derive absolutely no joy from being a manager and his wife trudges around, behind him, like she's just taken a house brick in the face. I've no idea why he's managing although it's possibly because he's not eloquent enough to be a pundit. I've never seen a team so lethargic on the first day of the season ... ... I felt sorry for the Plymouth fans, you could actually hear the groan when 'six minutes' went up on the board
I reckon he was probably a lazy bloke as a player, last one to training and first one to leave. Going through the motions while there. Bet he is even worse as a manager! Doesn't need to be a pundit or a coach. Made obscene money in his career.
Just imagine what he would’ve been like if he actually tried eh? Maybe he might have been selected for England more than he was, or possibly scored a few more goals.
