We have played 1 game why is it unlikely to be promoted they made it clear the players they want and i think we will be up there, they have not just gone for any panic buy.
I'd prefer we spent the £2 mill + on a 3/4 year permanent signing, better value in my opinion but it's not my money.
Probably because we need about 10 new players... and some won't come until the last week of the window. Then we have to get them up to fitness, and bed them in. We probably won't see the best of the squad until next year and by that time the play-offs will likely be out of reach. Anyone watching that game yesterday and not thinking we're miles off the play-offs, to me, is completely blind. Bristol aren't great and a decent side would've put us to the sword.
Why will the players come in be unfit? Who says we're miles off after one game? Did you watch every other team and know their dealings inside out to know just who'll be in the play offs? A decent side would but us to the sword....again based on what? We could have just as easily won yesterday if their keeper didn't pull of a couple of fantastic saves. I know you try as hard as you possibly can to just be as negative as you possibly can be, but Jesus we're one game in... have a day of FFS,
Bristol finished top half and have added to that squad. There are maybe 3/4 sides with the quality to “put us to the sword” in the division. We are a way off now, but clearly we aren’t planning on staying as we are
I think the top two will be 10+ points ahead of the playoffs But i think 4th 5th and 6th are anyones game Its one of the beauties of the championship Theres no 'big 6' like the prem
I think we’ve already dropped too many points to be seriously aiming for the top 2. Play offs is still a possibility of course, but I think if you’re going **** or bust you want to be targeting the auto’s.
This year really is a toss up. Boro will be very good, Leeds, Blunts you’d imagine will be up there. Burnley have got Parker so that’s them limited and beatable. Luton will be solid as always kept most of their best players Cov will be decent. But IMO compared to last season I don’t think there will be front runners like that
We're not a million miles away. When our new signings came on and the recalled Jarvis we really began controlling the game. Millar and Burns are class acts. And I love the way Mehlem gets stuck in(I know he started) All we need to do is add 3 or 4 more and I think we're in for a good season. LB, cb, midfielder and a good attacker. Mehlem needs another person near him that's going to get stuck in and we need a player that can find the net. It was better than I expected going to into the game. I was nervous but, we have something to build with.
I feel Zambrano will be brought in to do the deeper role and Simons will in turn become more advanced.
It is as if some are seeing this as our first ever foray into what is well known as the worlds toughest league. No matter the squad of players, it is a f*****g b*****d thing to get out of upwards.
Do you think Zambrano is the answer? He's one that I'm really unsure of. Is he too unknown or too young? Massive gamble.
Talk of them having over 30 senior players on the books, that makes any job for a coach difficult. He’s done it twice but never been convincing.
The irony of you saying someone else is negative after the negative garbage you posted most of last year... If they finished better they'd have scored 4, and we were camped in our own half for a large chunk of the game. It was pretty negative and there was an awful lot of 'safe' football which you moaned at persistently last year. But yesterday, we repeatedly turned the ball over in the wrong areas. Of the starting XI, 4 will potentially leave within the next 3 weeks and the bench was half-full of kids. There's a lot of work to do. I don't think it's negative to say, it's not the best position to be in...
Like you, no idea. Just think that’s why we are recruiting for the defensive midfielder role as we have midfielders more suited to the advanced roles at the minute pressing high rather than getting the ball deep and playing, Simons did that well yesterday though
