Had we signed Mendy at the beginning of July as we almost did, this would have been our best transfer window in years. Great balanced squad with many to go out on loan. The club have been a bit unlucky with the Mendy saga and hopefully it gets resolved soon. People wetting the bed because they are worried about CDM (Neil is gonna play there), CB (L09 has been playing at CB since Dion Sanderson’s loan and has been excellent), back up right back (Pembele is struggling but might come good, Huggins back hopefully soon, L09/Seelt/Triantis/Johnson even Browne can play there if need be). Have some bloody faith and get behind the lads on Saturday.

Safe to say we've been unlucky with Mendy, the lad was virtually posting his own scarf pics. An unexpected takeover was just about the only thing that could have scuppered it.

Agree with the rest and the general sentiment.

It does though. If you’re going to make a statement of intent then you should look like you’re going to go all out to back it up. You wouldn’t buy a PL club, say you want to win the title within 3 seasons then only sign players on frees. KLD has undoubtedly moved the club forward and we’re in a much better place but if you’re going to tell the fans of your lofty short term ambitions then do something to make it seem plausible.

I love the 'only sign players on frees' argument. It's ridiculous. Its like saying if we'd signed Browne for £3m, he'd be a good signing, and a statement of intent. But because he's on a free, he's ****e.

When we were looking for a coach, we were awash with ITK almost hourly with the latest info. Serious question, what are they hearing on the transfer front ????

it’s almost as if the very late leak of the poveda move has pissed them off resulting in some strong internal conversations about leaks and the shutters have come down

well either that or we haven’t actually got any irons in the fire transfer wise :emoticon-0107-sweat

Tbf like BronzeBummer told of us of interest in ugbo before it got reported so it’s still around just doesn’t seem to be much going on

Don’t think anyone whatsoever has said that the signings we’ve made are ****e because they’re free? Or I certainly can’t remember a single comment from anyone saying that. But if you say you’re going to get promoted quickly we all know the common way to do that is to throw money at it, something we aren’t prepared to do so what’s the point in saying it?

If you had a budget of £20m for arguments sake and signed a player that you valued at £10m on a free, would you then only have a budget of £10m remaining?

Surprised by this, I must admit. I thought Chelsea were crying out for some experience up top to support Jackson…

No, you'd be really glad you'd got £10m of assets for nothing and consider whether the £10m saved could be invested elsewhere in the business

No doubt he’ll start being a regular in the England squads if he signs for Spurs…

I wouldn’t have is as first mind but the teams that have came down don’t look as strong as they have been in recent years.

Luton recruited well when they went up basically to prepare themselves to come straight back down, Sheffield United seem like a mess and don’t have much faith in Parker to get Burnley straight back up.

Think Leeds will be strong and favourites is my guess.
…I wish we were that much of a ‘mess’
