This could end being a free. His team are seriously unhappy that this is taking to long.
They could try and get him out of his contract

Could be worse for us if he leaves on a free, more clubs will be interested and the chances of us getting him will no doubt worsen

Mendy? That wouldn’t seem to make any sense. They’d surely rather accept a bid lower than they value him than get nowt. His contract would still have to be agreed by both parties and he’s probably not on that much so won’t save a vast amount anyway.

Speakman said they wanted three strikers: main, backup and development. Assume Hemir is away, Mayenda is development. We’ve seen little to suggest Rusyn is a striker, so they could be looking to sell, loan or play him in a different position. If that’s the case then bringing two in makes sense to fill main and backup positions.
Think we will sign one main striker. Mayenda back up. Hemir development

It has to be sorted very quickly or we have to move on.
For the right player you wait. Say he misses 3 games and plays consistently for the rest of the season it’s no different from having another player in now who gets a knock. Except, if he’s the one we think will make the front line tick and the other player doesn’t you’ve screwed up big style.

Do we know if the “agreement” to let him go is in writing? If not it means nowt as it’s his word against the old owner.

Not sure on the clause. My money would be a ‘gentleman’s’ agreement. Well let you go at the end of the year if you help us now

business is business unless it’s a contracted clause he’s stuck
