If we get a fee in the region of £35m-£40m, I'd sell ESR (albeit reluctantly). I love the guy and his profile is not common in our squad, but he's had barely any first team action for 2 seasons now. His last start was against Luton Town at the beginning of April and his only appearance afterwards was against Aston Villa off the bench when we were 2-0 down and desperate to salvage a result. Arteta can't keep hoarding players and not using them. If we keep ESR, it has to be because we have a plan for how to utilise him. Otherwise his value is going to plummet and we're wasting his career away.
I would rather sell Viera to ESR. Smith Rowe gives us cover on LW and AMF but also fills the homegrown quota. Also we've seen (admittedly three Seasons ago) that he does have the ability to make an impact in the EPL.
I actually thought he was pretty decent in the games he came into last season. It's been a long road to recovery for ESR but he is a natural raw talent and I still think he could be as influential in this team as Saka is. I think we should absolutely be keeping him and moving on Vieira
I just think a fee around £40m is too good to turn down for a player who's had a handful of appearances in 2 years. I don't think the club will reject that either.
Gyokeres rumours surfacing again. Makes sense after Sesko bid was turned down. Soo let's say we signed (this weeks rumours) Mikel Merino (MF) Gyokeres (CF) Calafiori (CB/LB) Those three would give us pretty great options. --------------------------------Raya/Ramsdale----------------------------------------- White/Tomi------Saliba/Timber-------Gabriel/Calafiori--------Timber/Zin ---------------------------------Partey/Jorgino------------------------------------------ ---------Odegaard/Nwaneri---------------------------Rice/Merino----------------- --Saka/Jesus------------Gyokeres/Havertz------------Martinelli/Trossard--
Smith-Rowe close to agreeing a £35m move to Fulham. Like I said. For a player who's barely featured in 2 years, has had injury issues and then found it tricky to get back into the team, I didn't envisage his situation improving here. £35m is a reasonable offer for him. I'm sad to see him go, and will never forget his fantastic 2021/22 season, but this is the best move for all parties.
Calafiori apparently on his way to London for the first part of his Arsenal medical today. Then he'll do the rest in USA, sign contract and link up with the rest of the squad out there. Once this is done, we're apparently being quite heavily linked to 28-year old Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino, and have already made contact with his representatives.
Looks like personal terms have been agreed with Merino ESR on his way out to Fulham. If they can keep him fit, they have an exceptional player on their hands.
At his best, he's worth double what we're reportedly selling him for. I still remember when we rejected a £50m bid from Aston Villa for him 3 years ago. But he's not been part of the main team for 2 years now and it remains to be seen whether he'll ever truly get over his fitness issues. I am hoping we've got some sort of sell-on clause in the deal, but there's been no confirmation about that.
Wouldn't be a 'glamorous' signing, but he'd improve the quality of our squad. He's a superb duel winner and retains possession well. He can also chip in with a few goals and play line-breaking passes from deep. He's like a more mobile version of Xhaka from what I've seen.
Smith-Rowe deal agreed. £27m upfront fee + £7m in add-ons - taking the deal up to £34m in total (if all conditions to meet add-ons are met). Was hoping we'd get around £35m up front, but assuming the add-ons are easy to achieve, it seems a fair fee for a player who's only had 4 starts for us since the 2021/22 season.

€20m for Nketiah? Surely we can get more for him than this. This is basically equivalent to £17m. Can we not get closer to the £25m mark at least? Would be underwhelmed if we sold him for a fee so low.
Who the **** are you, just vpopping up out of nowhere and posting on here. Are you a sock? I have only seen you for 4 four years or so and had a few convo's
I actually had an account from 2015 (BrunelGooner) but couldn't remember my password during some point in 2020. So that's why I created this one! Been around here a looonng time - guess I'm not that memorable to some
There's lots of Gyokeres rumours right now but have seen nothing from reputable sources. This could be another Twitter/fan rumour thats gained momentum. Hopefully we do actually bid for him, he looks a good player.
