The only good news for the new manager is expectations for the start of the season are low and when it hits the fan every fair-minded person knows who to blame and it's not him.

If your wife wants a swimming pool when you are house hunting the market is pretty limited. It will take time to find the right players for this system and Tim does not seem to want to sign just anybody. If it was not for daft twitter accounts nobody would be any the wiser of this 'mess'. Tim and Tan are paid on results. Until they walk away I think its ok to trust their ability to do their job. We know nothing of what is going on in these discussions.

It sounds like a player was coming here until a club on his doorstep made an offer and he decided to keep his kids in the same school and sign for them. I would be amazed if they didnt have 2nd and 3rd choice options in the same position already well into negotiation.

It's not a big deal, no. Annoying if anything, but not the end of the world. Christ if he was that good he'd be going to the PL for massive money, not to us for a relative pittance, or Coventry for slightly more than we were willing to pay.

We actually get gazumped a lot, a lot of teams do, it's just that the deals that don't happen don't often get reported or even released to journalists half the time, and I said this throughout the window that once we start working on a deal, other clubs often feel obliged to jump in because they don't want to take the chance. Coventry will have overpaid WBA and the player, so from that angle we aren't losing sleep over it.

    Kurzgesagt, yeah.

And we will. We just need to not dick about and be so generous with the "thinking time" they seem to grant players. Contract signed, pic with shirt, get it done. If Coventry can ring him and get it sorted in the time it took him to watch us play Fiorentina, then what are we pissing about at?

Its not so much the player - im still waiting for this mythical striker who was going to be a massive coup we have no right in getting - but as you say, we get gazumped a lot, as do a lot of teams. Difference is we're hearing about these as done deals and still getting gazumped, so that's a next level gazumping.

There's not long left, and we're incredibly short. Yes we'll still see players coming in, of that i have no doubt, but if we're briefing the likes of baz of these deals, they're the furthest along and the surest things weve got... And we're still not getting them over the line.

    He's shifted position overnight.

    A Nightshift, you could say.

    This'll explain it:

    Marvin
Sang of the joy and pain
    He opened up our mind
And I still can hear him say

    "Oh, talk to me
So you can see what's goin' on"

Gonna be some sweet sounds, hopefully.

Why not do your own posts instead of repackaging stuff that's on Twitter?
