I think you've misunderstood what I'm saying. The guy is already down because he's been tasered, he's incapacitated and he's not going anywhere. All the copper needs to do next is move in and cuff him. But by kicking him in the face and then stamping on his head, he's inflamed the situation and you then see people getting agitated and trying to rush in. The other coppers then have to start pepper spraying them to keep them back, and he's put them in a position of more danger by inflaming the situation. I'm not making excuses for their behaviour, I'm saying that the Copper will be trained to deal with situations like that to de-escalate aggressive behaviour, but his actions have contributed to further to it.
Anyway, we can go back and forth endlessly about it on a football forum about what we think. But I'm pretty sure the IOPC or whoever deals with this will also say that he's crossed a line. It will likely end up with him losing his job and possibly facing criminal charges himself.
My thoughts are with a British soldier that got butchered in uniform in Gillingham, rather than some guy who wanted to act an arse in an airport, in comparison it's not even news worthy, but glad you felt the need to comment with your in danger thought process in our stabby country.
That’s the point though, we don’t want potentially stabby thugs being agitated into attacking coppers. They’d dealt with the situation, but the copper lost his head and took it a step further and inflamed the situation.
Why should anyone be carrying a knife in an airport? Your concerns for the soldiers welfare are noted.
Yeah not seen much about the lad in Gillingham being stabbed. Unsurprising giving the views of a lot of people on this forum. Certainly should be getting a lot more attention than some woman beating scum bag receiving a toe to the head.
Nobody should be carrying a knife at at airport or on our streets. We weren't even talking about that soldier so whatever you've noted is of your own making. What we were talking about was the Police response to detaining this guy at the airport. For the record I think it's abhorrent what's happened to the solider. You seem to have more of an issue with the perception that the media is not covering it as much as this incident at the airport.
Just seen that he's been detained 'for his own welfare'. Which is right, because somebody will finish him off if he's bailed to appear. They'll lock him away for a very long time, where he'll probably meet some equally nasty people on the inside who will enact their own version of justice.
Police violence isn't good But I laughed at the skinny little guy who wanted to go and help his bruvva in arms, that copper was ****ing massive and would have smashed him to pieces.
It's not right what the officer has done imo but what I don't like is that the public outcry and the media now want to forget how that situation developed. I don't think it should be washed over and I'm very interested in what happens to that man and hope that he is charged with every possible offence that he has committed.
It was knee too the center of the back in my day, much more subtle as you pretended to adjust the cuffs, just as good at incapacitating.
I think for me it's just all bad timing, I know I shouldn't blend the two but it really pissed me off when I heard about that soldier being stabbed up in Gillingham, it seemed like ages to me before it even made the main news. Yet here we are now, with an entirely unrelated incident, the media are all over it and there were protests by members of the public at the police station. Yet in Gillingham, caring is silent when it comes to some, the ones that get the attention is the ones that shout loudest. Something not right in all this for me, especially as one of those events comes down to public behaviour for me in a place where it should be restrained.
Like Saf said, stupid shhite should have waited until he was down the cells, that was the old school way of dealing with things, before we all suddenly had 'rights'...and fook me don't everyone know them (rights that is).
Not heard a word on them mate. I looked earlier but just some twat putting up a fake picture on twitter of the cop with the broken nose, that came from a completely different cop and incident years ago.
