As a project though, it’s not great. Incredibly short term, used entirely for building for Chelsea. No one of his own

He'll be used to that working for Acun.

I completely get why they picked him, he's good at developing youngsters and I suspect he'll progress them up the league. Yes, it'll be short term in some regards but they'll have the direct line to Chelsea so he'll get some really good talents. Is it any more short term than the Championship? Probably not, but if he does well, he could be managing in Europe (let's be frank, Ligue 1 ain't that strong) or he'll get a PL gig.

Viera struggled and he did ok in the prem, plays a similar possession style too hence why he’s had jobs in the city group. There’s no way Maresca lasts at Chelsea.

Overcoaching is killing the spectator element of football. I find Man City absolutely mind numbing to watch under Guardiola and everyone is trying to replicate it.

I've never been Pep's biggest fan. I can't stand Man City as a club, I think it kills football when you can spend £50m on a player as a backup option. There's less emphasis on coaching and more on who can buy the best team and that's not sport.

I can't understand the people frothing at the idea of Pep managing England. I find his style of football utterly boring to watch.

It'll be Carsley, he's going to not be a popular one (until people see how he gets us to play) but they'll make him 'interim' just as they did with Gareth.

I know some would cough their guts up at the thought, but the best qualified manager in the England setup at senior and tournament level is Serena.

Why not make her interim?

Because, despite massive improvements in women’s football, it’s still light years behind the men’s game.

It’ll be Carsley, who’s far more suitable.

She isn't in the England set up though. She's the coach of England's Women's football. Nowhere near the best qualified. Zero experience of Men's football. Stupid idea. Might as well appoint a coach who's done well in tournament (cup) football in the (Men's) National League.
