Just tried to get on the ticket page on the website, there’s 595 people in front of me……are we unveiling a signing ?
Yeah but Baz said he was due to sign before the players left for Turkey, then covered himself by saying it could roll into the backend of the week.
Tan on monday said it was imminent, you’d think if it’s that close then Tim or a new manager woululdnt be an issue
it could also be there isn’t an actual deal close
Isn’t this guy a free transfer, you’d think both parties would want it done for pre season startIt'll be coming down to final decisions from players I'd have thought. Clubs agree in principle and then it's down to the player.
In a sense it's a positive that we're looking at players who are also wanted elsewhere.
Though I can see that we could be maybe not as attractive a proposition as the last couple of widows for the reasons stated above.

It's entirely irrelevant, you're bang on with that. Do people genuinely believe we're not going to be adding to this squad imminently?

Totally get that the sooner some come in the better, but we were also told weeks ago it'd take as long as it takes to get the right players in and they weren't going to rush for the sake of getting bodies in. After 'that' summer window I'm surprised people have a problem with this approach. The owner who supposedly picks the team is leaving the recruitment choices entirely up to the manager, who's rightfully being choosy. This is how everyone's been saying it should be.
Yes there's a lot to bring in, and yes they'll possibly need time to gel and get used to the playing style etc, but that was going to be the case regardless of whether they'd turned up this week just passed, or this coming week or the week after. TW seems to have got it fairly well drilled into the current crop pretty quickly in just a couple of weeks and some of the new signings might be effective immediately.
Saying we're going to be in a relegation scrap with this team is redundant unless you believe nobody's coming in. My only question mark at the moment is how well this playing style will, or won't take to the Championship, but early signs are fairly encouraging in moments.
People's arseholes are going 5p, 2p due to impatience. I think it's a defence mechanism; a subconscious fear that this could turn out to be another Allam situation and we'll downgrade ourselves too much. I don't personally believe that it will turn out that way, certainly not this season at least. I think Acun wants us to be competitive. Why wouldn't he?
yes but in my mind imminent means he’s in the club shop getting his tracksuit. Not debating other offersThat doesn't mean there aren't other options on the table though.
Theres no way that the reason we dont have signings is becasue walter is choosing them carefully
I still think the fact we lowballed greaves out the door is due to us being in the **** finanically in someway
And i bet tim is extrmely pissed off behind closed doors
I don't think there's anything wrong with what he's saying there. Reading between the lines, I think we will spend a bit of money, but it's just managing the message to stop club taking the piss because they know we're cash-rich and need players urgently. I suspect that's part of the reason for the delay in signings, we're probably trying to hold out to avoid being extorted. Then it comes down to who blinks first. Wouldn't be surprised if Acun was to go and give WBA what they want for Yokuşlu at some point to stimulate a bit of positivity, like he did with Philogene after Donny last year.
If we wanted to stop clubs thinking we're desperate we'd get some cheap or free agent signings sorted so clubs would stop thinking we're 7-8 players short.
This time last year we'd only signed Delap.
