We can’t defend our borders.

Now we can’t even defend our big cities.

Country is absolutely ****ed. We’ve imported so many problems.

Catastrophic migration policies. Can’t believe what I’m seeing in Leeds & London tonight. Not to mention the guys in Luton stabbing people whilst reading the Koran. Also a migrant stabbing spree in Wigan. Plus a knife attack in France.

All of this is just today!!

Meanwhile in the UK, police in leeds are literally running away from a massive group of rioting foreign nationals.

Apparently a baby fell out of a window. Social services went to investigate and were attacked.

Glad all these people are assimilating so well into British culture

Good to see all those firearms tactical advisors on twitter, have taken a break from pontificating on the destruction of animals moving onto Public order policing. It's incredible there's this depth of expertise out there yet none of them seem that keen to join up. Weird.

I don’t entirely disagree, for what it’s worth. And we’re seeing similar problems throughout Europe. Countries, and people generally, have been rather naive about this, and (understandably) have projected how we are and how we feel on to a disparate group of people that just don’t have those considerations or motivations.

I’m not sure what the solution is, but I do know we need to stop pretending it’s not there (much like the Danes have done now).

People even on this thread are still calling me racist for noticing it!!

It’s not racist to want to feel safe in your own ****ing country and stop letting gangs of criminals take over parts of our major cities.

It’s too ****ing late now. The damage is already done. Will only get worse and worse.

Seems to have been this initial incident which is the one which sparked this ridiculously opportunistic snowball off

But is it? I mean it may be, there’s a hell of a lot of work to do to try and fix it. But it would be a start to do exactly that. To try and fix it. Everyone does need to stop pretending there isn’t a major issue though, that’s for sure, and to start addressing it with honest, adult conversation.

As I say, Denmark have (largely) managed it, in a way that, say, Sweden and us haven’t as yet.

You are spot on - the first step is to acknowledge that there are serious problems. In someways I’m glad tonight has happened. I hope it gets even worse.

People need an actual wake up call for just how bad things are getting.

It’s at the point where it’s dangerous for women to walk alone at night now in most major cities.

England is no longer the country it used to be. It is not a safe, high-trust society.

Jabbo/loading/schad have been calling me a conspiraloon racist on here for pointing these things out. I hope finally they can see the results of their bleeding heart liberalism:

I think you can be a liberal and still recognise there's a problem tbh. I can only speak personally, but I have voted Liberal Democrat or independent in every election since I became eligible to vote (until this most recent one... but that's another story) but of course I can see and agree there is a problem. I don't think the name calling in either direction particularly helps. This isn't aligned to any particular party and requires a cross-society solution, if there is ever to be a solution

You liked my posts just this week where I said there is an issue with Islam in this country. I can’t win with you…

Maybe if you stopped saying everything in hysterical hyperbolic tones, it would be possible for people to join in the conversation!

I find it best in situations like the one in Leeds, to jump to conclusions and make sweeping generalisations, based on - at this point - very little information. Why wait until we know what’s actually happened, before rushing to blame all our favourite scapegoats, eh @Osvaldorama ?

I was reading the NYT piece earlier, it's insane how many times he just evaded them. I don't like to try and speak with too much authority if I don't know the subject area but surely there's going to be big repercussions within the USSS

It's genuinely astonishing that they knew there was a suspicious person around with a range finder and they still let Trump take the stage.

Absolutely.

Was just reading that it started off because of a 'non-accidental head injury' to a minor, for which the police took the child into their care. But then, equally, had to take the family's other children while investigations continued, which is what sparked it all off at the home address

Suppose we should really wait for the reports to be confirmed but if what's circulating is accurate, the group rioting now are from a totally different community/background to the people the initial incident involved

The underlying cause seemingly just a front/ tinderbox for pent up anger within the community.
Regardless of the context, it’s a pretty dire advert for that particular community.

The Danes have banned the Burka…not sure that sort of quite openly racist infringement on rights is the way forward but I do take your point that many of their strategies have seemingly been effective.
