You think he’s run his contract down as a favour to QPR? Wow, the sun really does shine out of his arse.

Come on Fingy £100 on him not scoring more than 10 goals in the Championship next season.

I never suggested he was doing us any favours. I am stating that he has some resale value and therefore, he may not be as crap as some people think.

If he's as crap as you think, he won't score two, never mind 10. Keep your money Stan.

    How many will Frey get?

    How will Paul Smyth do?

    What is their resale value?

Where are all the people criticising them???

You wise old fox Fingy, I agree with 10 goals the odds were heavily stacked in my favour. What about more than 5?

£2.5 M for Armstrong with 25% going to Shamrock Rovers according to the Irish Independent, sounds a bit more like the sort of fee we should be demanding for a young International striker with a year left on his contract, if true.

Think you'll find Smyth took easily as much criticism as Sincs did for his profligate missing of chances. Frey too but a bit unfair given he was signed after not playing for months and was clearly not fit, still contributed proportionally about the same as Armstrong though.

I'd rather Sincs stayed but he clearly doesn't want to, nothing we can do about that.

That's my opinion too Frome and Finglas....but if he will not re-sign..we really can't hang on to him. Just money talking nothing else, nothing about slagging him off.

2.5 million ..excepting Eze, when did we get that sort of money for a youngster before..

Seems a no-brainer to me. Doesn't want to stay (I can't say I blame him because he knows that he won't get much chance to progress with us under Marti) and we get something for him now which we won't in a year or even 4 months time. Now let the bidding war begin. Must be a few more big hitters who like their forwards big fast and scary out there to up the price

The only things we can do is dig our heels in, then he'll end up going for free in a year and we'll have missed out on two million quid. I'll be sad to see him go, but not as sad as I'll be in a year if he goes for nothing.

If Sinclair doesn't want to be here then so be it. Sell him. Goes with any player if you ask me. I really like him but we only want players who want to be here. My lad tells me that Varane has just landed in London....... interesting.

Allegedly Sporting Gijon have turned down two offers from us, the second at €2m, so we are spending money, if it happens.

    Nosebleed.

This is my favourite post of the last few days.
All the talk about losing Armstrong (and Dykes) from those that wish he'd stay. We need the money and if BC are crazy enough to pay us £2.5m, then we have to take that. I won't be losing sleep when we play them.

Looking in from afar, why it seems, that players are wanting to leave?
From what l’m reading here, sincerely hope there is not bad blood in camp.
I thought we were having a Marti party and everyone had smiles on their faces.

Not sure I am getting the same impression.

Willock...( and his dad/ agent) have been refusing to sign for well over 18 months. The Ainsworth era when he was not played and injured would not of helped. It seems to be common knowledge he was looking for more money than we can offer.

I can also believe that Armstrong trying the same tact will not have gone down well with the new CEO. He is also not quite the player Marti wants...the high pressing player.... let him go....but keep Dykes...a much more hard working player.

Especially if they bring in the same sort of price...and Dykes is also doing his bit...he signed a new contract. So if he does improve his scoring rate...we can sell next year. Next year Armstrong would have been a free agent

Yes! Having read the last few pages, I was left wondering the same.
Naively, I assumed they'd all be desperate to stay and play for MC.
I take some encouragement from Beth's post which followed yours.
