Seems like Stoke in for Sinclair as well so hopefully will boost the sale value.

Anyone else see the sitter he missed in the friendly with the 7th teir Spanish club.

Spot on from Beth, anyone in their last year who doesnt want to re-sign should be sold. Isn't Ilias in a similar position?

If Armstrong reads message boards, I bet he is legging it out of our club if some of the comments on here are reflected throughout the entire supporter base.

Remember folks, he is 21 years old. He is not a seasoned pro who has been in the game for years. He is not a senior high earning player, unlike some. I bet his career goes from strength to strength from here and he realises the potential most of us know he has. We don't deserve a future % signing on fee if another club comes in and takes him from Bristol City.

To me, I would shed no tears if Dykes goes. He is the seasoned striker on big money who has failed to produce the goods. He scores for Scotland on a regular basis. Why not us?

Just my opinions. Nothing to do with nationality of anybody.

He could end up anywhere from the Premier League to Hackney Marshes. Still pretty sure his best position would be left of a three. I’d have liked to have kept him but **** him if he doesn’t want to be here and enjoy playing for Dundalk by the time he’s 25.

Classic example of why young players with potential end up elsewhere and out of QPR.

The classic thing is that he wont sign a new contract with a year remaining.
Whats the point us investing tim in him when he will be off in twelve months time and probably spend the season looking after himself.

Anyone care to come up with a list as to how many have done this in the last five seasons.

Please dont blame our contract negotiations as in the main our hands are tied.

I think a lot of the comments are a result of him being seriously overhyped a couple of years ago. I seem to remember Man City being 'interested'. All this turned him into a sort of latent Messiah but it soon became clear he was simply a very physical and pacey forward who missed a lot of chances and needed a lot more time. If he does go I wish him well and definitely go with a decent sell-on clause...

What are your criteria for his success then Fingy? Goals per season, assists per season?

I think anyone would be excited from his highlight reel. If those highlights go from being 1% of what he does to 10% then he’ll be a player.

For young players, I wouldn't set them any serious targets. If the Manager believes he has potential, he needs to drill it into him that he will come good eventually How has he compared to far more experienced strikers like Frey and Dykes? Why are there not some really negative comments about Frey instead of this young kid? He probably done as much as either of them despite making a lot of substitution appearances. How has he done compared to say Paul Smyth? I know he plays in a different position but he has probably contributed as much as Smyth did last season. How did he compare to say Chris Willock? Not quite the same success despite putting in twice the effort. Give me a young lad who tries over an older player paid triple the wage.

If he reads what some QPR fans think of him, no wonder he's off.

Message to Parents with kids with potential, avoid QPR at all costs.

Another rumour doing the rounds is Zan Celar a Slovenian striker 25 year old, some ITK allegedly saying he's been talking to us

He’s 21, he’s in the first team squad. If we sent him back to the development squad your argument might make sense. Yamal was 17 last week. Not comparing the two, Yamal is exceptional, and Armstrong certainly isn’t, but without targets/expectations you are running a ****ing crèche, not a football club. If he’s any good your comparisons to other players are irrelevant, he should be able to demonstrate it. Plus his alleged (in my view non existent) potential would have been spotted by some serious teams and there would be a queue to sign him. Then you could criticise the club. As it is Bristol City for £250k sounds about right.

I was going to take you up on your bet, but you aren’t going to set any parameters so that’s not going to work, he can’t fail if you don’t have any metrics. Let’s see where he’s playing football next season. If it’s with us or any other championship club you can have £100 of my money, in cash or beer, if he scores 10 goals.

Oh, and if he is daft enough to read fans forums and his skin isn’t thick enough to take the criticism, probably wrong career. Or wrong decision to seek out what people think of his performances.

At least we don’t need to worry about an ex striker come no back and scoring, he doesn’t know there are goals at Loftus Road

Finglas...tbh I am not really talking about ability or potential here at all.

He has run down his contract. We have invoked the extra year.

    This is what BOS did,
    what Willock did.
    What Manning did.

Potential or not...if he will not sign, we let him go...for as much money as we can get.

The reason we are being offered 500K or 750K is because that is all other teams think he is worth...not what we think at all

Alternatively we keep him a year...and he goes for nothing.

It is not slagging him off, not giving his due...
It is a plain economic fact...nothing to do with the kid or his ability

Irish Independent talking about Shamrock Rovers receiving 25% of Armstrong sale and quoting a transfer fee of £2.5M, surely not!

I was just going to say, £2.5m and Shamrock Rovers getting 25%. That puts his "potential" into perspective if two clubs think he's worth that kind of money. Not 250K, 2.5m.

Willock and Manning ran their contracts down Beth to benefit themselves. At least Armstrong will have benefitted QPR with almost £2m after Shamrock Rovers get their cut. It's not only me therefore that sees his potential.

Any chance we can all go and bitch about other players now???
