It's a diss against the whole nation. France actively went searching through their former colonies for sporting excellence starting in the late 80's so they'd win something.
And, despite France having the best players from all those nations, Argentina still beat them in the World cup final.
That is what the song is about.
Yeah okay then. Are you the kind of person who thinks that it's okay to use the term Paki because it's just short for Pakistani? Asking for a friend.

except nowhere in that song is there any derrogatory term other than the one calling Mbappe a tranny, so the point is moot.
Are you the kind of person that gets offended on someone else's behalf because it gives you a buzz of self-righteousness?

Nothing to do with the song it was a question?

And in answer to your question no I'm not, but I do recognise when someone is being offensive and I'm happy to call people out when they are talking bobbins.

Paki is racist

Paddy is also racist

And so is... all French black players are from Angola/Nigeria

Only racists think otherwise

Not sure about this one.

First of all, Irish isn't a race.
Secondly half the Irish people I know are nicknamed Paddy and use the name as their sobriquet (I also have a welsh mate who we call Taff, who also uses the name himself).
I mean, its not something I would just call an Irish person, without their leave, but its used quite a lot by brits as a term of endearment towards Irish friends.

What do the Irish call the English?

Its actually a mostly offensive word to anyone irish

And It was given as offence/racism.

You've spent the whole tournament taking the piss out of us and get called one mild phrase and you shout 'racism.'

Don't be silly.

can’t quite decide who the racist is

Ern or Luv

might need a poll thread

I thought it was a video that Sucky had put up from twitter, that I had just scrolled past previously, so I looked back and there was nowt there, other than some link feeding back to twitter - I only made sense of it because Ern had posted up the transcript or that's what I think it was.

You're English...no I'm not I'm British! So why do you support England, because it's where I was born, so you're English, maybe, depends how well we do in the football. <whistle><laugh><bubbly>

Agreed it can be a term of endearment, but that doesn't change the fact its also often used negatively.

Like i said to peej, go to ireland and start calling everyone paddy and you'll see how well it's taken.
