Salford City want to take Sunderland's highly rated young keeper Matty Young on loan.
Young was with Darlington for a spell last season and is being allowed out to play in the EFL for the first time.
The England youth cap is ready to go if he is going to start in the Salford side and talks will take place around their plans this week.

My nephew just got into their academy, under 10s or something. My brother says it's a really good outfit. Would be happy with this.

Last pre season start:

Struggled v South Shields
Struggled v Gateshead

This pre season start:

Bossed it v South Shields
Struggled v Gateshead

It’s a start I suppose.
I just don’t think it’s relevant. Legs full of lactic acid, players chucked in together with little focus on organisation, in game changes. I remember playing myself and thinking ‘wow I’ve gone ****e’. (Then realising I always had been ****e)

@Scout73 you think Mubama fits the "mobile cf" description?
Hes def mobile, im not convinced by him tho. The games i watched his movement was poor, struggled to find space to receive the ball and he didnt cause the defence many issues in the final 3rd. He is quick and he puts in a shift but needs to improve his movement and add some aggression to his game

any reasons why he's been seen as one of west ham's best youth prospects recently?

Not worried yet. Just simply saying gateshead was **** and I didn't see a single pattern of play to suggest the new man has his ideas across yet.

Did you go to the Shields game as well, as we played COMPLETELY different against them.

I was at both games and it was like night and day, to the point where I can only assume the instructions/tactics given to the players were different for both games.

Lazio set sights on Jobe Bellingham
Il Messaggero via TMW details how Lazio have started seriously considering a move for Jobe Bellingham if the talks for Mason Greenwood collapse, and have been in contact with Sunderland to sound out a move.

The talented 18-year-old is valued at around €15m and is reportedly contracted to the club to June 2027. In the 2023-24 season, he netted seven goals and provided one assist across 45 Championship appearances

Pretty widely reported he is valued higher than 15m euros. Weird article.

He was class for their youth teams, scored loads as he was stronger n quicker than players he was up against - i was impressed when i saw him at youth level

But I've also watched him for their 1st team, he cant use his pace n strength as much as senior level so he needs to be smarter with his movement - this is something he lacks currently

Im not against the signing at all as its def a high upside kind of signing but im also not buzzing about the signing - i remember when we were linked with broadhead i was over the moon as he always impressed me with his movement whenever i watched him

Could that be because it would be against PL defenders?

It was mostly in Europe that he played for them so thats when i watched him

Im normally looking at how they move, even if they dont have any success, its about what movements do they make, do they make double movements in the box, are they looking to stretch the game, are they looking at getting into goal scoring positions etc

I didnt see a lot of that when he played, he dropped deeper trying to link play but thats not his strength. Id want him on the last man trying to run in behind

I remember watching broadhead for everton u21s a yr before he joined us and his movement was unreal, looking to get across or behind defenders all the time - i dont really see that with this lad

He def has the profile of a striker that would suit our system tho so wouldnt be against hom joininb

I love reading stuff like this because it really shows there are two different games happening on the pitch at once.

The one uneducated plebs like me watch, and then the actual game.

If I was a scout the level of my expertise would stop with that ridiculous old line, "He's got good feet for a big fella."

With the type of high press system we want I think we defo need to be seeing if Tom Cannon is available on loan.

I think it would fit him like a glove.
Also after watching altendings video on Browne. His defensive stats are actually surprisingly good. He could be the sitter behind AA and Neil.

I don’t see where Jobe fits for me either I find him far too slow to transition quick enough

What have you read about the high press?

Regis supposedly didn't play with a press either year he managed Lorient. Not to say he won't here, just wondering what you know that I don't.
