Hopefully this will be the first game in the tournament we actually turn up and play well. We can't just keep hoping one player pops up with an individual but if class to save our arse....
We're going through this tournament playing crap every game and winning it...
I suppose you'd take it, but it would be nice to do it and actually enjoy it
'England' and 'enjoyment' are two words you don't see in the same sentence.
Yes,but if we play 'crap' against the Dutch I think we'll be on the plane home?
I don't know what to make of it all to be honest.I keep expecting us to click and tear someone apart(who knows,maybe we will against the Dutch) but we just keep scraping through by the skin of our teeth.The last game was an improvement on what we'd served up previously but the extra-time period appeared to show us just going through the motions,hoping we'd win on penalties...Which we did,and impressively at that.
Some will point to the fact that we're still in the tournament and I understand that,each and every one of us is fully entitled to an opinion, but surely there are some of us that like to see entertaining,end to end football,with our players playing with their heart on their sleeve?
I just wonder if it's become 'win at all costs' and to hell with the performances and whether or not that's becoming the norm in Football?
Anyway,I have a feeling that in order to progress to the final we're going to need to up the tempo and play some decent Football...We have the players to do that,now would be the perfect time for them to showcase it.
Based on the improvement against Switzerland.....2-1 England and a final to look forward to!!!
