More millionaires, 9,500, left this country last year than any other country except China. Some numpty said good riddance. Where do these clowns think the taxes are going to come from? Haven’t they seen the huge percentage of tax paid by the higher earners?
Genuinely curious, but do we know how many more people became millionaires in this country during the same period?

One thing I have learnt in a life away from football and NOT606 is that it is the unelected civil servants that run the country and they don't change whichever colour you vote for.

Reading about what is going on in France it is a similar story there as well. They are already saying they will not cooperate if the right ( to them wrong) party get into power.

I don't mean austerity measures, but there are plenty of savings to be made in places, before they even need to look at more taxes or just chucking money at problems.

They were/are a significant factor in Brexit dragging out as it has.

For me starmer makes them completely unlikable, he's terrible, has absolutely no charisma, can't debate for toffee, will be absolutely hopeless at negotiating with other leaders, can't stick to anything he ever says and the one that really gets me...."we won't raise taxes for working people" which is just a huge lie.

Don't forget the Jimmy Saville Factor when he was DPP..........

The majority of those millionaires weren´t paying income tax in the UK - they were in the UK because of the non-dom tax regime, that Hunt changed to try and match Labour.

Most of them didn´t even physically leave the UK - so they´ll continue buying things, they just relocate registration of their assets to Singapore, for example.

Are you one of those who said the Brexit vote didn’t go the correct way as people didn’t understand the complexities? (Rather condescending of Remainers who would not have said that if the vote had gone their way.) Yet 16 year olds are sophisticated and aware enough? Maybe they should be able to drive, drink and smoke?
16yo’s have grown up being part of Europe, maybe, just maybe, they did have strong opinions about a vote that affects them for much longer then it will a bunch of silly old ****s like half this board, me included, who’ll be saying goodbye to it all before long.

They will have to raise more to fund some of their promises. Though they have already rowed back on some.
Blair had the luxury when he came in of inheriting a relatively healthy economy. He then kept a load of spending off the books by using vastly more PFI leaving problems down the line. Starmer won’t inherit such a rosy situation. There is already talk of more PFI.

Thats a massive massive generalisation.... to the point its bollocks.... maybe 10% do that but "MOST" bullshit

You can’t know that.

BTW, do you pay tax here or in Norway? Just asking as was reading an interesting article about taxation in Norway.

When Boris won the Labour voters said there wasn’t a mandate as he only got 43% of the vote and a lot of people didn’t vote This team more won’t vote and Starmer will get a lower percentage of the fewer who do vote. But those same people will declare Labour has an overwhelming mandate.

Yeah when Labour lose there is always some kind of phony angst about us not having PR or an AV system. But when they had 13/14 years under Blair and Brown did PR get a second thought?
