Agree with this. For all I know, they might do, but I think every new appointment and every new signing should be given an introduction to the history of the club.

100% agree with this but I'm not sure it should be an unscripted talk with Rob Mason to start off, he's a bit of an anorak <laugh>

Maybe there's something that can be done between him and Fulwell 73 where they could put together a selection of videos, history of the area, history of the club, footage of Promotion seasons for the league, footage of our cup history when it's FA Cup week, even go as far as interviews with players who got Sunderland and were embraced by us (Quinny, Defoe, Ball etc) or one with former academy players who've made it to professional football (Hendo and Pickford key obviously).

An hour of that kind of stuff every week in a break from training would be great, even if it allows one player to get that connection with the club or one academy prospect to push that bit harder to make it.

That's what I was thinking. It's all gone very quiet in that respect.
Hope this gets sorted quickly. The coaching needs a shake up and would be nice to get it done early. It’s a big move for these lads though a lot to sort out moving to a new country. Will be disappointed if it turns out he’s on his own

why?

something good for the club and those taking part and you still have to post some negative (and possibly hurtful to those taking part) for no absolute reason that i can see.

It's a very clear joke man.

I mean, how would you fit the shark pit in the first place? It would be a large one as we don't want any members of Scouting For Girls getting away and continuing.

The more anoraky, the better, in my opinion. But history does have to be well presented to get people to engage. Having said that, I don't like seeing accuracy sacrificed to achieve engagement.

Not knocking it as it’s what you'd expect from a club welcome interview but I hope we get something a bit more in-depth from him at some point. A bit more detail on his playing philosophy and what the identity he talks about would look like and perhaps how he sees that working with our squad.

I presume at some point there will be a press conference but unfortunately for me, the coverage of the club from journalists around here is all pretty base level stuff so I’m not convinced we’ll get much insight from that either.
