Not blaming anyone. Personally I don’t think either of them will work here. May be proven wrong. I saw them a lot for the u21’s last season too. Hopefully they both do succeed here

Out of interest where does everyone stand with Pembele? With a full fit team our two RB’s are Hume and Huggins with Cirkin and Alese as your LB’s.

Yeah quite possibly wishful thinking on my part, just think he’d be perfect for us.

I’m sure someone in here had said they’d heard he’d been up for talks. I could be wrong though.

I think pembele will be good next season, getting a full preseason will be huge for him

Gives us the option of 5 at the back too, he looked canny at wing back not seen enough of him at full back to comment

I could see RLB enjoy working with Pembele. Apparently he loves his full backs to be very attacking. Hopefully we'll see the best of him next season.

He seems raw but has lots of potential. Coming here off the back of a bad injury can’t have been easy either. Think he will come good this year.

Am I right in thinking it was said when he signed that he can play CB as well?

Wasn’t aimed at you mate just our fan base in general. Service into the strikers was shocking last season but people refused to blame the midfield/wide lads. One set of standards for the foreign lads and another for the homegrown talent it feels like at times.

Seen a few people hoping for Browne and Millar but personally I dont see them two signings from Preston (I know Millar is from Basel) massively improving us

Hope we get surprised with a bit of a coup, like we did when Pritchard, Roberts & Clarke dropped down to League 1 for us

Hopefully looking at some of the Premier league players who are free to leave

I'd say Browne improves us straight away and Millar would be a solid replacement for Clarke

Browne would defo improve us like. Finding someone good enough to replace Clarke will be an issue because of how good he is at this level.

Way too early in terms of his appearances to judge on him I reckon.

Think that's fair but I just have this feeling that with a proper pre-season he will be a success. Looks like a proper athlete, so his pace will be a major positive. IMO :emoticon-0105-wink:

We wouldnt replace with a player so to speak, as you said its hard to find someone to replace him

But using his money to sign someone like Miller then a quality CF plus a CB would do it

I think Browne is just about the best overall performing championship midfielder stats wise the last couple of seasons. He is a coup if we get him imo. Millar also looks a good player with plenty of room to get better. it would be nice to get a striker in the mound you mention but premier league salaries for experienced pros are so massive it’s going to be a challenge and they will often have other options like Turkey or Saudi that offer a lot more.

If I've had to pick it off the 3 from what I've watched, Huggins would be number 1 for me. Thats hard on Hume as he's been brilliant for us. Haven't seen that much of Pembele

If Huggins plays again it’s a bonus. He’s premier league quality but I think the odds are stacked against him getting back to his best. We have to plan on basis he doesn’t play this season.

I agree replacing Clarke will be a challenging although Millar is really good.

However, Browne would massively improve us.

A couple of lads in early on a free would whet the whistle nicely
