We hardly ran the first 20, threatened rarely 1st half, Mainoo for Gallagher improved our movement in midfield considerably but even then we didn't look much like scoring. Only positive for me was Slovenia didn't look like scoring either after the early errors became less recurrent. Not sure we'll cope with better attacking teams though. Bellingham has faded badly from his good start against Serbia. Looks like Eze could do a job for us to me.

It was marginally better.
Marginally

Why can't we just move quicker .

Saka is exactly where he should be....but he never gets the ball.

Foden is sharper than he has been...but he is still at the Luke Amos level of sharpness.

Kane is less than impressive than Lyndon Dykes.

Is that Lyndon Dykes with or without an injury?

England look like they’re playing under Ainsworth - a manager who has outdated tactics and approach. England need a Cifentes style manager - young and fresh and in touch with the modern game and able to get the best from players.
Hit the nail firmly on the head there.

With Shaw being injured, I can't quite understand why Southgate didn't go for (in his opinion) the next best left back. Mitchell, Colwill, Doughty, Rico Henry etc. someone who plays in that position week in week out over someone who doesn't play in that position and who would also be unlikely to be first choice in his natural position.

Presumably because he hasn’t given any of them a chance to play international football. Taking Shaw was idiotic.

Phil Foden has temporarily left the England camp to attend a family matter back home.
