Think you might need more wine..... Looks nice there Stan, what part of Cornwall is it..... looking to have a few days down there in September....
It was marginally better. Marginally Why can't we just move quicker . Saka is exactly where he should be....but he never gets the ball. Foden is sharper than he has been...but he is still at the Luke Amos level of sharpness. Kane is less than impressive than Lyndon Dykes.
Me and my lad watching this, we've come to the conclusion that following Scotland is like being a QPR supporter, you know you're ****, you get the occassional great result and you don't do cup runs....following England is like supporting Leeds...you think you're much better than you actually are, you're living on past glories, and your team bottle it when you get on the big stage. This is boring as ****
We really just aren't that good. We have players we see week in week out and think they are better than what we are. I asked the question about who would get in an all stars euro team, earlier in the thread. Bellingham after the first game. He's played himself out of It now. Not one England player would make it so far.
It’s Mevagissy, near St Austell. Very pretty, good seafood and lovely walks. Bastard to drive anywhere of course, so we aren’t bothering. I’m considering taking the wine onto the terrace and watching the sunset with a small cigar….
Reminds me of the time when Glenn Hoddle was managing Chelsea and they drew 0-0 against a team that were down to 9 men. He said afterwards, 'Everyone one knows that it's hard to play against 10 men. Well it's even harder against 9'.
So, England qualify whatever the result. Would it be better for us to lose this and be humiliated forcing a rethink, rather than sneaking a 1-0 win (as I suspect we will).?
Looks like Southgate has lived up to his standard, yet again. He’s managed to coach the brilliance out of any player that he plays. Surely England can do better.
