“Yes man”, “cheap option”, “only one who’d work with Dodds and proctor”

    Awkward now isn’t it

Big summer ahead and some tweaks needed in recruitment, but this is really positive news. And hopefully a pretty clear indication, that any rumours that KLD is trying to sell are way wide of the mark imo.

It is a completely different appointment to the Beale appointment. Beale would have brought a coach, given time. I don't believe that things were ever as rigid as some made out. None of this surprises me. It doesn't make logical sense; passing up the opportunity to improve due to dogmatism doesn't fit with the ethos they came in with. They tried to do things differently from the start.

I see the revisionism has already started though.

I wonder if Lorient have any players who'd follow him here ...

... the coast of Brittany isn't so different from Sunderland and the people aren't quite as weird <laugh>

Since it's basically been announced, was this guy the one you had heard about?

Coaching reshuffle and more experience targeted in transfers.

Seems many of us are getting exactly what we want here.

It's needed no doubt. If it happens like it's getting spoken about, fair play to KLD.

I've got nothing against Dodds and Proctor and I doubt many people do, it's obvious they were doing a job out of their comfort zone. I'd like them both to stay at the club in their old roles.

A good clear out is healthy though and good for everyone's mental health too. A fresh start is much more exciting than a continuation with a couple of tweaks.

Never heard of him but has my backing fwiw. Saying that I'd have had Mike Bassett over Dodds and Proctor.

No idea how good this bloke is but if it’s true that lessons have been learned then happy days.

Be interesting to see what type of player we go for now.

I didnt believe that we would lose out on a head coach because Dodds etc were being forced on them but I did think there were limitations on the amount of staff they could bring in. This appears not to be true. I can accept the club being rigid with having the final say on recruitment so we dont end up getting an unbalanced squad who suit different style of managers. But imo a head coach deserves a team to support him and help him deliver what he wants with the squad. It looks like we're giving RLB that support to help him be successful. Now he needs the missing pieces in the squad.

I hope we don't sign experience just for the sake of it. Anyone coming in MUST be of the quality to have us in the top 6, and help out IF we get to the promise land.
