I know nothing about this bloke, would have preferred someone I had heard of and had some idea of what they will bring to the role. I really hope we haven't pissed money up the wall in compensation on an unknown quantity who got his last club relegated though. Is that potentially the majority of the transfer budget blown already? I suspect high profile player exits are coming, maybe more than we would expect.

Perhaps the club have been crafty with all this and thrown people off the scent ...

... the lad I was talking to insisted he'd been told Cifuentes was who they were negotiating compensation for.

Anyway it's quite funny that Régis translates as 'manager', I don't dare mention what Le Bris means <laugh>

Doesn't it translate as King?

A Bris in Jewish tradition is the process of snipping your foreskin off, not sure if it's the same in French.

PS. DO NOT look up "metzitzah b'peh".

Done a bit of research into L'Orient last summer. They sold 3 players for a combined £50m who had 40+ goal contributions between them in 2022/23. For a team traditionally battling against relegation, that's a lot to take out of it...

Last January they also sold Outtara to Bournemouth and let Moffi join nice on loan for a large fee, whilst they were competing for their best league finish for ages. I remember betting on them a few times last season and I’m sure they were in the top 4 before Xmas

An unknown quantity to you. Within football circles he's well know because he's a coach within a top 5 European league.

I’d take someone like this over a boring steady hand every day of the week. If this club has ambition like we’re supposed to then that comes with taking risks, not settling for a comfortable mid table finish.
