If the FA had two brain cells to rub together or half a testicle between them Southgate would be on the next plane back to England plus the player/players who he took knowing they were injured

Steve Cooper on a two week temp contract could get more out of this squad than Southgate

I believe he got the job because he worked his way through and he doesn’t court controversy for the FA and generally appears to be a yes man

I think he did well with the youngsters - and to a point it has transferred to the first team but we just don’t progress like the other international teams do

Gareth isn’t the worst England Manager I have witnessed but he isn’t the best either

    just a meh for me
Think the sum of our players is better than our performances but I also think the players think they are better than they are

Bellingham should have been off tonight - they did him the old fashioned way - massive challenge at the start - Goodnight Jude
Thought Foden was doing better tonight and deserved to stay on over Jude

I don’t want TAA anywhere near that squad but once you play him - leave him on while Watkins is on ffs

not playing Mainoo was batshit crazy too

    Crazy decisions

Is anyone staying up to watch the Copa America? First game on now, Argentina v Canada. Messi playing very well so far, still 0-0. Canada are set up old school 4-4-2. They’ve got a lad on the right called Buchanan. He looks very good.

2-0 Martinez, lovely through ball by Messi. Should really be about 5 with the chances they’ve missed this half.

Experimenting with a ****ing right-back in midfield was always an insane unnecessary gamble. Now he’s backed himself into a corner where he either sticks with it to the bitter end or throws in a player with little experience and little to no playing time in the tournament who will be under massive pressure or drops Bellingham back to what isn’t his position and relies on Foden who has been crap. ****ing idiot.

    Southgate has so far;

    • Not taken a fit left back to the tournament
    • Taken three right backs, and plays one in CM and the other at left back. Neither are any good at it, which he should know.
    • Says we can't find a replacement for Kalvin Phillips, with Kobie Mainoo and Adam Wharton sat right there on the bench. Right there Gareth, pretty much ****ing next to you. You picked them!
    • Says he's 'experimenting' with TAA in CM. In a major tournament. Experimenting! How's about you do that in friendlies or qualifiers, mate?
    • Plays Bellingham at 10, when Foden could play there and, guess what, Bellingham, an actual midfield player, could then play in midfield alongside Rice.
    • Has made Kane absolutely undroppable, weirdly.
    • Plays a 10 at left wing and wonders why he can't get into the game, with actual wide players sat on the bench not being given a chance.
    • Has no 'plan B' of any sort whatsoever.

This is the best that the FA has to offer, everyone. Those players are not ****e, they are badly coached by an absolute spoofer of a manager. He should have been sacked for how he (mis) 'managed' the last Euro's final, and we've now wasted two more tournaments on him since. League 1 manager at absolute best, and he's managing the national team.

The FA cares about on thing, that the manager does what he's told and smiles and toes the party line. Southgate is great at it.

It's quite incredible how he's managed to do pretty much everything wrong... Everything. Substitutions have been on the whole, baffling - can't be arsed to lay it all out. It's just been pure ****e.
