This is where people need to perhaps take a step back and apply a bit of critical appraisal when reading rumours.

Do people really think that Speakman is willing/wanting to sabotage the success of the club and thereby his own career to save Mike Dodds? Do people really think that KLD is willing/wanting to sabotage the success of the club and tens of millions of pounds (with the likes of Rigg etc) to service the needs of Speakman?
Not intentionally. Hanlon’s razor:
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

It's almost definitely Le Bris coming here.

Resigned so they don't have to pay him off by sacking him like they wanted to, and also so we don't have to pay compensation is my guess.

"Best" for all parties. Fact that his assistance is staying at Lorient fits in with Dodds being our assistant.

Why do you think almost definitely?

genuine question, been busy last few days so not sure how this rumour started and how credible it is.

So Still, Maric and Cifuentes would’ve all come had we been more flexible and decisive and instead we’re getting the guy who plays football antithetical to the squad we have, who once had a decent four months while wildly outperforming the xG has since been relegated? Top work.

Just all fits doesn't it.

We apparently want Le Bris. Lorient apparently want to sack him (based off a few articles I've read).

So it fits that he's resigned there to come here. Saving us compensation, and them from having to pay him off.

All coupled with the 'Staffing issues' we've had with other coaches by forcing Mike Dodds on them, fits with Le Bris' assistant staying behind at Lorient.

I'm obviously just putting 2 and 2 together here and getting 5, but it does all fit.

Still don't want the bloke.

I think it’s quite credible mind and I think we will see that soon

where has it come from tho? Obviously not the media. Somebody must have started this “rumour” even if it is credible. Do you know where?

If he comes in without an assistant, it's an absolute shambles mind.

Don't want him to come in at all, but at least let him have someone to lean on if he does.

It'll go the same way it went with Beale otherwise. Bloke is already going to be up against it from the start, same as Beale was.

Honestly worried for next season if it's Le Bris, and worse if it's Le Bris on his own.

I know absolutely nothing about him and his Wikipedia page has pretty much nothing between his retirement and becoming Lorient manager in 2022. Anybody know what his background in coaching is?

Don't know much about Regis le Bris so I've done a very short amount of research. Two seasons ago, he was getting plaudits and had Lorient fairly high up the table.

The article below talks about their tactics being unique in some respects but it appears that they were a low possession, direct side. They were, however, trying to find a way to counteract the high press but this basically meant knocking the ball around at the back to try and draw the press onto them and then exploiting the spaces that this left.

It suggests that le Bris is thinking about the game, and not just following what is currently de rigeur, by looking to find a different way to play. It also suggests that the football might not be that great to watch. If he is genuinely a candidate, it further suggests that the club don't know what kind of playing identity they want as it's another leap to another kind of coach and at odds, to some extent, with the character of our squad.

The obvious caveat to this is that, if he's a good coach, he won't necessarily set up in the same way with us.

If this is speakman’s choice then this has to be his last roll of the dice. His last choice was Beale who lasted 2 months.

I have no doubt that he has caused all this unnecessary drama by being inflexible. Unforgivable.

Yeh there’s no doubt, no matter the reason Still didn’t happen, that it should have been resolved miles earlier than it was.

that’s my main problem in all of this. The lack of decisiveness. We seem to be slow to do anything.
I thought legally he couldn't sign till the 1st June. He had the contract to sign.
We were supposed to have offered him everything he'd asked for.
Had Lens not approached him he would have signed, I'm not sure what else they could have done.
Don't get me wrong I'm as frustrated as much as anyone at what has happened.
I'm more annoyed we had Maric ready to sign, that forced Stills hand to arrange an agreement to leave as we wouldn't pay the compo. He did that with the intention to come here.
Then to drop us as soon as Lens approached him and we then miss out on our other main target.
I know he's well within his rights to do this and many will blame the club.
The only thing I'll be critical of is not signing Maric when they had the opportunity, to me he would be just as good , if not better appointment
