I read in HDM that Criterion on Hessle Road has been smartened up and reopened. Anyone dared to go in yet?

Closed for some time a while back and re-opened after a time. Then closed again just after Tickton Tiger had mover there and was expecting it to be his local.<laugh> He will be a happy man now.

I've always wondered why that pub seems to struggle, its a fantastic little location

Trouble is it's too far from the main part of the village and it's down a road with no streetlights. Not enough people from the village frequent the place, just those around BATA. If they do decent food (which apparently the new owners do) they may attract more passing trade and people who walk their dogs to Eske

Reactions: Trumpton Tiger.
Used to pop in for a meal now and then. Trouble was I have to drive to get there so can’t drink. The pitfall of having a wife who doesn’t drive. Can’t beat a river or canal side setting for a pub.
We’ve popped in a couple of times thinking it would be a lovely spot for a pint overlooking the river. Unfortunately, just sat looking at some old tatty boats. It could be a lovely spot.
