Do you know why Neil didn't sign the contract when it was on the table. On a different tack, not knowing anything about the injury, it has to be said we've had a real problem carrying players with long term injuries. Seelt, Cirkin, Huggins, Evans, Stewart, etc, have all been expensive.
That’s what I reckon. Lampard is high profile for the media. If it was him it would be all over the place by now.
And control over the budget though his political allegiances may mean he’s comfortable with cutting the workforce
He'd probably want double what Cifuentes would ask for, I'm surprised Lampard is even in the running for this specific issue.
Whoever the coach is we simply have to get back to playing the possession based attacking football TM laid the groundwork for. Beale and Dodds done their best to rip out any attacking threat the team had but I still believe we have the players to go back to enjoyable football and with some quality additions it can be developed into winning football as well. Don't personally think Lampard is the man for doing that but if he's the head coach i'll be his biggest supporter while he's here.
It's not unfeasible, but also any info coming from family is bound to have a **** load of spin on it. They're not exactly going to say Neil hesitated cos he might fancy keeping his options open are they. Perhaps the injury and any perceived change in tone from the club just gives them an easy excuse/smokescreen.
Recruitment is key no matter who comes in. Can't allow the coach to go into the season with one hand tied behind their back again
I'm assuming Lampard lives in London or nearby and I'm pretty sure his wife works down there. Think he's got young kids too, I can't imagine him uprooting them all and it's an unappealing commute to say the least. Hopefully rules him out. Not like jobs are particularly rare down south.
