If the last two seasons have taught us anything is that the difference between 6th and 16th is a bit of momentum and good form. If we spent 10 years down here it would be entirely our own fault.
On perception alone, he doesn't look like a good fit with the way the club have tried to develop themselves.
Not sure I agree, he last managed in the Premier League and has a very recent promotion on his CV. My guess he that he would be asking for more than Rosenior, Cifuentes etc
I fear our Head Coach recruitment has gone the way of our player recruitment. We talk about player models. We talk about head coach succession planning. We talk about it because we know its the right thing to do. But we can't execute. We don't know how to. So we end up with players that don't reflect the player model. And we end up with Head Coaches that don't reflect succession planning.
Would like to know the thought process behind the candidates for the job. They seem to all be extremely different in terms of playing style which makes me think they don't really know what they are wanting. From Still to Maric to Jansen to Rosenior to Hecky, they have barely anything in common. Of course some may not be in the running but there's no smoke without fire.
The club thought they had Still. He'd verbally agreed until Lens came in. At that point (2/3 weeks ago) they had to start again. FWIW I'm glad they didn't just make a snap appointment
Has to be said we talk a world class game but we are doing a damn good job of turning fantastic words into hot air.
Even the jump from Neil to Mowbray to Beale and then to Still makes no real sense in terms of continuity or succession planning though.
