I just hope the uproar if its Heckingbottom is aimed at the club / Speakman, not Heckingbottom himself. It's not the bloke's fault.

He's a better manager than Beale, and may even end up a good appointment. But the process to get here is what was absolutely shocking.

My gut feeling is we don't get promoted with Heckingbottom. It's the same feeling I had with Will Grigg. He's done it once so he'll do it again. Things rarely work like that in my opinion.
Seem feeling as when we appointed parky for me, done it before, dull as dishwater, hope it’s not true but if it is I hope to be pleasantly surprised by him

Any football manager that "Rules" himself of the England National job should never be considered again. England come calling, you go, Simple as that. It's the highest honor that any football manager can have and something every coach/manager has to aim for. To have the arrogance to rules ones self out should be a permanent mark against their name. Not just saying this because he's their manager, I just don't get it. Bit like when players "Retire" from the National set up.

Managing high end international teams are for the 2nd rate or semi retired nowadays. I agree, any manager ruling themselves out is a PR mistake, but I certainly wouldnt be ruling myself in if I was a top end Premier League manager.

In all seriousness my thoughts on Heckingbottom (if this current snowball is true... nowt else to talk about)

  1. At least he knows how to put a winning team together in the Championship
  2. At least he's been promoted out of this division, even if style of play isn't exciting
  3. He's dull as dishwater - but then I thought Mowbray was before we appointed him as well
  4. The club should absolutely not pretend he was first choice :D. Its comical even writing that

If you'd offered me him a few weeks ago I'd have said to feck off. Now I just want it over with. A complete apathy. Just close somebody.
I can’t fathom why some are so against Hecky, he has shown he knows how to get out of this division

I’d feel that way whoever gets the job. We’re way off currently.

There isn't a manager on the market who guarantees us promotion, but there are a few names who you would expect to get us competing for a shot at the top-6 and I would include Heck in that short list.

I’m ready for 10+ years in the championship. It’s getting no easier to go up

Too hard to estimate a couple of years ahead let alone 10 years... but right now we are closer to a relegation side than a promotion one and I think that's pretty obvious.

If we can't close managerial appointments we won't be able to close player ones either, frankly.

Just depressing, dismal and apathetic.

Speakman out.

I remember being in disbelief that Jack Marriott didn't start that final after his semi final 2nd leg performance.
I was there mate. It was a terrible game, and only after going 2-0 down did he put Marriott and Waghorn on. They scared the life out of Villa after that. He should have had at least one on from the start and how he didnt make a change at half time I will never know. It was like that throughout the season, chances missed.

I'm not saying there is. I'm saying my gut feeling is that it's not the right appointment.
