It's not just us either it's actual clubs as well. Look at the last 2 seasons the 6 managers to be promoted are;The funny thing is, from ALL the names linked with us this summer there is only 1 of them with a recent promotion from The Championship and that's the name everyone appears to want the least.
Kompany - now at Bayern
Edwards - highly thought of, been linked to some pretty good jobs
Maresca - Chelsea
McKenna - was linked to top jobs before signing new contract
Martin - will be the next in line for a 'big' job

That's fair, I guess for me it's about the pragmatism of having someone with recent success and simply trying to copy and paste that onto us, he's had a solid if unspectacular career to this point and I think that's mostly what we need.

If its Heckingbottom then we really have reached point of desperation. That's not saying he is bad but it's saying if he was anywhere near our preferred choice we could have had him months ago.
