Don’t we all when we get a new job we haven’t done before, I know I did.

We've survived without a striker and a defensive midfielder, may aswell give it a go without a head coach.

It could also be accurate that these people have indeed turned us down once the constrictions of any appointment are discussed, as there must have been, resulting in the predicament the club is finding its self in, a mere114 days after dispensing with Beales services

I'm not ITK, If I ever receive any genuine information I would say that upfront.

El Maestro was heavily linked before we hired Alex Neil in League One, he was managing in Turkey at the time and it didn't happen for whatever reason.

It's true he is untested in English football, he has done well elsewhere and the fact he's raised here and speaks a number of languages can only be a positive. Considering the way things appear to have gone, I'd take him right now.

Started well, then went pear shaped

    Spartak Trnava[edit]
In May 2017, El Maestro signed a 2−year contract with Slovak club Spartak Trnava, taking over as their manager from the new season.[2] In his first season as a manager, he led them to a historic league title for the first time in 45 years.

    CSKA Sofia[edit]
In June 2018, he signed a contract with Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia.[3] He was sacked in February 2019, despite reaching 45 points after 20 games in the Parva Liga.

    SK Sturm Graz[edit]
On 12 June 2019, it was announced that El Maestro has signed a 2–year contract with the Austrian side SK Sturm Graz.[4] He was sacked on 25 June 2020 after a series of seven losses in eight games.[5] During the 29 games under El Maestro's tenure, the team reached a disappointing 37 points.

    Al-Taawoun[edit]
On 12 March 2021, he was appointed as the manager of Saudi Pro League club Al-Taawoun.[6] On 22 August 2021, he was sacked by Al-Taawoun.[7]

    Göztepe[edit]
On 8 September 2021, Süper Lig side Göztepe S.K. announced agreement with El Maestro, which was contracted on 2 seasons.[8] After 6 defeats in a row, he was sacked on 7 March 2022 after only 6 months.

    CSKA Sofia (second stint)[edit]
On 29 July 2023, El Maestro was reappointed as manager of First League club CSKA Sofia, taking over from Saša Ilić.[9] He was sacked on 14th April 2024 and was replaced by Stamen Belchev.

I haven't watched any of his teams extensively to know, but you can probably pull some information from the internet.

Transfermakrt has his formation listed as 4-1-3-2, looking at his biggest job, Sturm Graz 2019-20, he finished 5th but had a great start to the season which fell away after the winter break. 5th isn't great for Graz. Goals for and against seem balanced, not the top scorers and not a bad defence.

Told Liam Rosenior no longer in the running to be Sunderland's next manager. Informed the club yesterday he no longer wanted to be part of the process. Had been the bookmakers' favourite. Rosenior due an interview at Burnley this week

Wtf is going on with our club?
